In Toronto Ontario there is an underground network of tunnels; housing shops, and connecting various parts of the city near the downtown core. There are literally miles of tunnels and one can live an entire existence without ever seeing the light of day. This is the entrance to part of what is called "The Path". It was quite eerie to see. I must add that I applied a filter in photoshop to make it look a bit futuristic. It reminds me of some alien spaceship you might see in a sci fi movie.
Happy 2015. Here's hoping for light to illuminate your path. Sunshine on your face. A sturdy bridge to cross the stream.

Chevrolet El Camino was a coupé utility vehicle produced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors between 1959–60 and 1964-87. I believe this to be of '79-81 vintage.
Introduced in the 1959–1960 model years in response to the success of the Ford Ranchero, its first run lasted only two years. Production resumed for the 1964–1977 model years based on the Chevelle platform, and continued for the 1978–1987 model years based on the GM G-body platform.
Although based on corresponding Chevrolet car lines, the vehicle is classified and titled in North America as a truck. GMC's badge engineered El Camino variant, the Sprint, was introduced for the 1971 model year. Renamed Caballero in 1978, it was also produced through the 1987 model year.

The Path is an immersive project based around the exquisite corpse concept sometimes used by the Surrealists. Essentially, each chosen artist adds to a composition in sequence. Eight artists were invited to stand upon one of eight different coloured boxes I had set up. Once all had chosen a box to stand on, a chart was rezzed which listed the order of colours which would hten dictate the sequence of artists to compose the scenes for a narrative.
So if red was the first colour on the chart, then the artist standing on the red cube would begin the narrative. If blue were next then the artist on the blue cube would continue the story after red had passed their part on to them.
The artist who goes first composes a short start to a story. They then pass on this segment to the artist who is next on the list. That artist would then write up a continuation of the narrative and pass it on to the third artist. This would continue until reaching the eighth and final artist.

Cannock Chase is a mixed area of countryside in the county of Staffordshire. The area has been designated as the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Chase gives its name to the Cannock Chase local government district.

The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff is one of my all-time most read and loved books. I read it every so often when I feel the need to be a bit more grounded and accepting of what's happening in my life. This book is a superb introduction to Taoism, to Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu, and to Wu-Wei or the path.
One of the basic principles of Taoism is P'U, the Uncarved Block. The essence of the Uncarved Block is that things in their original simplicity contain their own natural power, power that is easily spoiled and lost when that simplicity is changed. Through the simple bear of Pooh (P'U, the Uncarved Block), Hoff reveals the basic tenets of Taoism: namely that is we discard arrogance, complexity, and so on, then we rediscover that simple, childlike, and mysterious secret: Life is Fun!
I am in need of being a bit more grounded at the moment, with so much up in the air for me and some close friends. I shall be reading The Tao of Pooh yet again :)

This portrait seems so 'timeless.'
I was talking to Aaron last night at the Chicago Diner while we were waiting to get a table.
The light was perfect and I was suprised that I forgot that I had my camera in my hand.
I popped off a couple of shots while we talked.
It looks like I took this picture a hundred years ago.
Maybe colored it by hand.
Human beings are timeless.
So is the human soul.
We're all on the same journey.
It's always been that way.
We are alive in the moment.
Only the moment.
And the moment is all that we've really got.
Maybe nothing in life is ever perfect.
But imagine if we pursued perfection in each and every moment.
I was all philosophical last night.
Kind of reflective on a lot of things.
Winter is tough on the street.
It's a lot more challenging to get the shots I wanna get.
People are hustling...
engaging is a lot more of a challenge than on a balmy summer evening.
It was a fun night and I made the mistake I always make after a good night's shooting...
I stayed up until the sun came up looking at the shots.
This one I must have edited ten different ways until I accepted that my Nikon saw it perfectly.
So here it is 'SOOC.'
I hope the weekend's been kind and wonderful to you.
I'm still feelin' it.
I hope you're feelin' the love.
There is nothing I love more than taking myself off for a lovley walk in the British Countryside, this was taken down a lovely track I found near Faygate, West Sussex.

Just a quick detour from the theme of people/portrait shots that I’ve been posting. I wanted to put something up spooky for Halloween. And actually I’ve been meaning to post this photo for ages, but I always forget to do so. Anyhow, it’s an Infrared shot that I took in Stockholm while spending the day at Drottningholm Palace. I took this photo on the same day View On Black. Anyhow, Happy Halloween!
