The path

brynoh.blogspot.com/2011/09/path-opening-october-14th.html

The Path is an immersive project based around the exquisite corpse concept sometimes used by the Surrealists. Essentially, each chosen artist adds to a composition in sequence. Eight artists were invited to stand upon one of eight different coloured boxes I had set up. Once all had chosen a box to stand on, a chart was rezzed which listed the order of colours which would hten dictate the sequence of artists to compose the scenes for a narrative.

So if red was the first colour on the chart, then the artist standing on the red cube would begin the narrative. If blue were next then the artist on the blue cube would continue the story after red had passed their part on to them.

The artist who goes first composes a short start to a story. They then pass on this segment to the artist who is next on the list. That artist would then write up a continuation of the narrative and pass it on to the third artist. This would continue until reaching the eighth and final artist.

This was the random order of artists:

1-Bryn Oh

2-Colin Fizgig

3-Marcus Inkpen

4-Desdemona Enfield / Douglas Story

5-Maya Paris

6-Claudia222 Jewell

7-Scottius Polke

8-Rose Borchovski

I would like to thank all the artists involved for working so hard on this project and in such a professional manner. They created a truly brilliant experience for me and hopefully for all the guests as well.

Bryn Oh

Ou quand des buildeurs de génie décident de s'associer pour nous faire rêver.....à aller voir absolument et prévoir du temps beaucoup de temps (surtout la partie de Bryn Oh comme d'hab :-))

Wrapped in the soft shroud of daybreak

The tree tops rise above the veil of fog

Like slumbering giants,

Only half hidden by the earthbound clouds.

The world seems immersed

In private reflection,

absorbed in the simple beauty

Of a foggy morning.

Even the birds give reverence

In the church like silence...

Other people may be there to help us, teach us, guide us along our path, but the lesson to be learned is always ours.

°° Words to the Picture °°

A journey begins with the first step. When we learned to walk, we started our journey called life .. we choose our own paths through the years after. Some might have taken the wrong one, but that doesn’t mean, that he/she can’t find his/her own way back to the right track.

Remember, if we stand before a crossroad, the road less traveled, might not be the easiest way to get to our destination, but you can leave your footprints behind so somebody can follow.

EXPLORED! December 7, 2010 (Highest Rank #91). Wow .. thank you all for the feedbacks for this one .. truly unexpected to be honest with you. Thank you!

**One of my first "landscape" photos.**

Before I started photography, I was feeling alone - life had not treated me that well and I was locked up in my own darkness . So I needed something new to do. I started to photograph everything with a really crappy camera. As I focused my camera on a subject, the only thing I saw was beauty.

Then suddenly something changed in me, I felt free.

Photography made my life so much better. It gave me a new beginning, a new path to walk. It opened my eyes to beauty all around me. Now I see the world and myself in a new way. Now I know, the trick is to keep breathing.

Your Destiny

Depends on You

Not Heaven.

Be gentle

O love.

Be firm

Be flexible

I may not know the twists and turns on the path ahead, but I know the One who leads me safety to the destination.

What's the point of a heart

if you can't feel

whats the point of this world

if nothing seems real

whats the point of good-bye

if its not for good

whats the point of trying

if you never could

why does tomorrow

comes so slow

why does life

feel so low

why can't you feel

all of this pain anymore

why can't you see

our hopes splattered on the floor

when does this dark

finally turn light

when do your hopes

finally go right

To one side I saw the inner quarry of the crater and towards the other, the West Coast, I enjoyed a magnificent view of the Ma'uŋa Kai Heke Volcano, the Pacific Ocean and the cultivated land where the soft volcanic cones stand out.

Wonderful to walk on quiet roads through the forest...

after feeling the vast silence that holds all the noise and starless sea

does the world feel large and small, at the same liminal moment?

then,

should a faint-hearted one, carry a nest of personal creativity and explore a new journey?

or should one keep returning to the nest of shared wisdom and yet meet a distant self?

how can the contrasts be a story boat, but not be gloomy waves when emotions run high?

will the feeling of words hit home or put on a horror show facing the uphill darkness?

with the looming mountains, isn't it possible to meet the 'sworn in' where they are?

to see their personalities and preferences and not be changed by the elements?

that someone's presence still haunts a place?

kindness and respect cannot sit at a table

if tipsy the bench cannot leave.

the book not wide enough for all the thoughts.

after feeling disenchanted on how one has constructed one's own life, distanced from magic;

unbecoming of indelible brushstrokes, can the self have new wings of love and calmness?

and dreams and responsibility bolster each other, on such a faith that knows how to ask?

what happens to the streams of thinking below the two thoughts that keeps insidiousness at bay?

a small pond in stillness, feels a downcast force, whose ripples disrupt far greater than the first contact of a large rock.

the solitude of a large sea whither a small stone sets off a dream.

this sea who cannot feel the 'idea of you' that is bequeathed to her.

where was the plan to perform a symphony and healing of the dissatisfaction?

in the city of many cleaning vessels, of overwhelming heads but zero hellos,

when did the paper thin anger bargain, to be the stone and be accelerated in rage?

or when did it incipere the transformation - to be the story of - 'the bird in me flies'?

it's time to think through interconnected questions

that thread through co-mingled emotions —

which strains between light and dark,

between co-regulation and co-escalation.

what kept on advancing error by error

to become a stultifying world in itself?

amoenus world-weariness — no turning back — simply as

we are all in this locus terribilis, at every moment of our lives.

whir of raging bluster slows to silence— no turning back —

through the new seasons — new creations,

with essence alone — the conversation resumes.

And you see fear - it crawls,

but love – it flies.

Still winter images from me and no architecture for the moment, but I'm working on an architectural shot from London and will be posting it soon, probably next week. Actually I'm working on more than one simultaneously, but it's one of them that I'm more fond of at the moment and this will be the first one to be finished.

If you like this image you can order an Open Edition print or order a Limited Edition print of it on my site.

NEWS:

In another line of thinking I've just launched my new website and blog www.juliaannagospodarou.com after almost 2 months of hard working on building it and I'd love to hear your opinion on it. I intended it as a place to express me and my photography credo, which is searching for excellence and perfection in the world around me and expressing it in my work. You'll be able to see my most beloved and appreciated creations here, read on the blog about them and about my photography workshops & other events, also order limited or open edition prints of any of the works you're seeing.

A HUGE thank you goes to the gorgeous SmugMug and its extremely professional people that helped me building it. If you want to build your personal site and still don't know where to go, I warmly recommend you to go to SmugMug. They are really great in everything.

NEWS 2:

And finally, don't forget I will be co-teaching/co-instructing the Chicago Fine Art Architectural Photography Workshop , September 5-8, with an outstanding team of instructors, international award winning fine art photographers Joel Tjintjelaar, Sharon Tenenbaum and cinematographer Armand Djicks. And we're giving away one FREE SPOT to the workshop. If you want to know how to apply for it or sign up for the workshop, here is my blog post with details: Chicago Workshop 2013 – Formal Announcement
