In Lancashire, North West England, there is a huge nature reserve called Brockholes with unique wildlife, gorgeous landscapes and amazing hiking and cycling routes. In this photo, which is the first photo featuring our watermark, we see the glorious, gleaming lake under the sun. The bushes and trees are still a rich green colour signifying early autumn. With the lake grass in the left corner showing distance and positioning, this photo is the perfect way to begin 2014's Autumn Collection, The Fall.

Stourhead National Trust property is ranked one of the top places in the UK to see the autumn colours. I should have been there a week or so earlier but it was still amazing.
As you walk around the lake there is a grotto from which you get some beautiful views especially at this time of the year.
The Grotto, commissioned by Henry Hoare and built by Henry Flitcroft, was constructed in 1748. It is a large domed rocky chamber with anterooms lined with flint, pebbles and tufa.
Like as if we don't have enough to worry about, at the moment. Okay, bring it on you ghouls! Have I got a Corona beer... umm, well, not quite a beer, more like a virus... waiting for you!

Random Music Reference: The Fall - I Am Kurios Oranj
The main feature of this autumnal photo is definitely the colour of the moorland grass. The rich yellowy colour with hints of orange and light red beam across the hills and beyond. The masts provide a sense of distance and proportion before leading your eyes to the top of the hill where they meet the dark grey clouds waiting to burst with rain (which it did, a few minutes after taking this shot).

This is the famous tree tunnel in Halnaker, West Sussex captured in early autumn whilst the trees still had most of their foliage. I used used some zoom to try and capture the tunnel effect, as the path widens at the top of the hill.
These tortured curves have a strange beauty. Their texture and form caught my eye upon entering the Jardim Botánico, but here the light was dark and flat and I had to manipulate the image in Photoshop to get the effect I wanted.

This is a picture of the Tomb of Humayun in Delhi. I arrived during Diwali, the biggest annual festival that involves a burning a lot of things. Most of the tombs, mausoleums, temples, and the like were surprisingly empty, giving me clean access to cool places like this without dopey tourists getting in the way of sweet photography.
It is the next morning now and the air in Delhi is covered with the smoke from last night's festivities... There is this acrid smell of stale carbon and it's not exactly like a trip to Sedona. Luckily, I am getting out of the city today because my hosts have been kind enough to give me a ride up to Agra to visit the fort and Taj Mahal... more pictures coming soon, so stay tuned! :)

A view of the Petaluma River Valley near Lakeville, in the evening sun. These are pretty much the only Fall colors we get in California.
The Falls are illuminated nightly until 10 p.m. January through April, and until midnight the rest of the year. In recent years the only occasion the Falls were in darkness was for a few evenings in August 2003 when the lights were turned off to support recovery efforts during a major North American black-out.
