One Fine Day in the Big Apple

Polarizing statue but on thing is for sure, MANY young ladies love this statue. Incredible how the statue invokes pride and strength by its mere presence. Probably one image that I have taken that moved me. A small but powerful piece. "Fearless Girl" NYC.

Back from New York to Maryland and will catch-up on photos later. Just had to post this iconic view. The Staten Island Ferry is free and just the best value trip in expensive New York.

And so to The Big Apple - not recently, but earlier in the year when I met up with my most excellent friend 'Homemade London'.

He'd very kindly arranged for a trip up a tall building on Water Street... and once at the top advised on a technique to get vertigo-inducing shots.

I'm nowhere near as brave so my offering isn't as jaw-dropping as I'd have liked... but from that height, my knees were knocking as I dangled my beloved Canon over the parapet.

Thinking of all my friends in the US, and particularly Homemade.

After a little more than a year and a half, I have finally started to sort images from our trip to the USA in March - April 2008.

This sloppy pano needed a little work, but I'm glad I didn't give up.

This man told me a story about another photographer taking his photo, and then seeing that photo in the New York Times the next week!
