… not too sure about their carbon footprint, but these cats are wicked fast ! The Thames Barrier, and Canary Wharf on the Isle of Dogs makes a picturesque background. The twin cranes on the right are on the loading dock of the huge Tate & Lyle sugar plant.

The Thames Tunnel is an underwater tunnel beneath the River Thames, built between 1825 and 1843. It measures 11m wide by 6m high and is about 400m long. It was the first tunnel known to have been constructed successfully underneath a navigable river. It was used by pedestrians until it became part of the London Overground railway network.

Tower Bridge (built 1886-1894) is a combined bascule and suspension bridge, over the River Thames. It is close to the Tower of London, from which it takes its name.
