"there is a loneliness in this world so great

that you can see it in the slow movement of

the hands of a clock.

people so tired

mutilated

either by love or no love.

people just are not good to each other

one on one.

the rich are not good to the rich

the poor are not good to the poor.

we are afraid.

our educational system tells us

that we can all be

big-ass winners.

it hasn't told us

about the gutters

or the suicides.

or the terror of one person

aching in one place

alone

untouched

unspoken to

watering a plant."

With the amount of single men you see hanging about the place with a fishing rod by their sides and pretending to fish, one has to ask if the only reason they are there, is to get away from their partners?

LOL

After moving several ideas trough my head, I took some photos of different subjects. The texture here is small part of the shoulder strap of my daypack from Deuter. The thickness of the shoulder belt is approx. 12 to 14 mm, gently measured with a caliber. But since the material is soft, it’s late at night and it’s very well within 3 inches, the estimation 12 – 14 mm is fine.

Other ideas, just to mentions them where chocolates actual fine pralines, some floweres past their prime time and my new checking tool with 75 x 75 mm inside, actually one of them is a approx. 75 x 75 mm on the outside. Stay tuned and have a look at my stream in the near future,

This was taken at Picacho Peak State Park in Arizona. My friend, BillyZ and I went out with a strobe, soft box and a reflector one afternoon to exploit nature stuff. This is the skeleton of a saguaro cactus that was decaying slowly in the Arizona desert.

Lighting stuff: Lit with a Yongnuo 560-III in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box from camera left at 10 o'clock to create the side lighting that reveals shapes and textures. The flash, in manual mode, was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N. Fill light came from a reflector on the right side.

Other pictures that I've taken of cactus are in my Cactus and Succulents album. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157633383093236/

Other plants, flowers, fruit or thingys that I've photographed using strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Plant album. In the description for that set, I list resources that I've used to learn how to light with off camera flash. www.flickr.com/photos/9422

Patterns and textures abound on a day with a little wind at Yosemite's high-country wonderland: Tenaya Lake. From the glacier-carved granite domes to the rippled surface of the crystal-clear water to the vertical lines of the firs and pines, there's some geometry here for every taste.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have a happy, healthy weekend, wherever in the world you happen to be.
