Greenfield Lake, a few hours after Hurricane Irene passed by Wilmington. I didn't find any accidentals, but I did see some interesting things.

DON JOAN CARLES I, REI D'ESPANYA
A tots els que la present voren i entengueren,
Sapiau: Que les Corts Generals han aprovat i Yo vinc en sancionar la següent Llei Orgànica:
PREAMBUL
El present Estatut constituix la manifestació de la voluntat autonòmica del poble de les províncies valencianes, desprès de la seua etapa preautonomica, a la qual va accedir en virtut del Real Decret-llei deu/mil noucents setanta-vuit, pel qual es creava el Consell del País Valencià.
Aprovada la Constitució espanyola, es, en son marc, on la tradició valenciana provinent de l'històric Regne de València es troba la concepció moderna del País Valencià, donant arige a l'autonomia valenciana com a integradora de les dos corrents d'opinió que emmarquen lo valencià en un concepte cultura propi en l'estricte març geogràfic que compren.
TÍTOL PRIMER
La Comunitat Valenciana
Article primer.
U. El poble valencià, històricament organisat com a Regne de València, es constituix en Comunitat Autònoma, dins de la indissoluble unitat de la nació espanyola, com a expressió de la seua identitat històrica i en l'exercici del dret d'autogovern que la Constitució reconeix a tota nacionalitat, en la denominació de Comunitat Valenciana.
Dos. La Comunitat Valenciana es l'expressió de la voluntat democràtica i del dret de l'autogovern del poble valencià, i es rig pel present Estatut, que es la seua norma institucional bàsica.
Tres. La Comunitat Valenciana te per objecte reforçar la democràcia i garantisar la participació de tots els ciutadans en la relasació de les seues fins.
Article segon.
Els drets. deures i llibertats dels valencians son els establits o reconeguts per la Constitució i el present Estatut. Correspon a la Generalitat Valenciana, en l'àmbit de ses competències, promoure les condicions per a que la llibertat i igualtat dels ciutadans i els grups en que s'integren siguen reals i efectives; eliminar els obstacles que impedixquen o dificulten la seua plenitut, fomentar el desenroll de les peculiaritats del Poble València i facilitar la participació dels valencians en la vida política, econòmica, cultural y social.
Article tercer.
El territori de la Comunitat Autònoma compren el dels municipis integrats en les províncies d'Alacant, Castelló i València.
Article quart.
U. Als efectes del present Estatut, tenen la condició política de valencians tots els ciutadans espanyols que tinguen o adquirixquen veïnat administratiu en qualsevol municipi de la Comunitat Autònoma.
Dos. Els ciutadans espanyols residents a l'estranger que hagen tingut el seu últim veïnat administratiu en la Comunitat Autònoma Valenciana, i acrediten la dita condició en el corresponent Consulat d'Espanya, tindran els drets polítics definits en el present Estatut. El mateix regim s'aplicarà als seus descendents inscrits com a espanyols, si així ho soliciten en la forma que ho determine la Llei de l'Estat.
Article quint.
U. La tradicional Senyera de la Comunitat Valenciana esta composta per quatre barres roges sobre fondo groc, coronades sobre franja blava junt a l'asta.
Dos. Una llei de les Corts Valencianes podrà determinar la simbologia heràldica pròpia de la Comunitat que integra les tres províncies de Castelló, València i Alacant i la seua incorporació a la Senyera, sobre les barres.
Article sext.
La seu de la Generalitat Valenciana radicarà en el Palau del seu nom, que te lloc en la ciutat de València.
Les seues institucions podran establir-se i celebrar reunions en qualsevol dels municipis de la Comunitat, D'acord en lo que determine la Llei.
Article sentim.
U. Els dos idiomes oficials de la Comunitat Autònoma son el valencià y el castellà. Tots tenen dret a conèixer-los i usar-los.
Dos. La Generalitat Valenciana garantisara l'ús normal i oficial de les dos llengües i adoptarà les mides necessàries per a assegurar el seu coneixement.
Tres. Ningú podrà ser discriminat per raó de la seua llengua.
Quatre. S'otorgara especial protecció i respecte a la recuperació del valencià.
Cinc. La llei establirà els criteris d'aplicació de la llengua pròpia en l'Administració i en l'ensenyança.
Sis. Per mig de llei es delimitaran els territoris en els quals predomine l'ús d'una i altra llengua, així com els que poden exceptuar-se de l'ensenyança i de l'ús de la llengua pròpia de la Comunitat.
Article octau.
Les normes i disposicions de la Comunitat Autònoma Valenciana tindran eficàcia territorial, en les excepcions que puguen establir-se i en els casos en que siguen d'aplicació a l'estatut personal i altres normes d'extraterritorialitat.

PUERTO GALERA, ORIENTAL MINDORO, PHILIPPINES
This coastal town is well known among tourists for its numerous pocket beaches and many snorkeling and diving spots. The area was designated a Man and Biosphere Reserve of UNESCO in 1973 and has some of the most diverse coral reef diving in Asia. The marine environment has benefited in recent years from the influx of tourist dollars. This has seen a huge reduction in the number of fishermen in the area, as they gain higher revenue from tourists.
Among the famous beaches in Puerto Galera are Sabang Beach and White Beach. Both have extensive beaches with first-class or economy-class accommodations and an active night life with their numerous beach-side bars and restaurants. Sabang beach is the main destination for foreign tourists, while White Beach remains popular with local travelers. Since 2001 White beach has seen uncontrolled development. New restaurants and places to stay are rapidly encroaching on the beach itself and little remains of the once charming beach. Puerto Galera town is a pleasant but sleepy Philippine town with few attractions. It has a large central catholic church and a Pier area, with a selection of bistros and cafes.
Behind the beaches are the huge and generally unexplored mountain ranges of central Mindoro. A particular local attraction is the nine hole golf course perched on the hillside above White Beach which commands spectacular views over Puerto Galera's natural harbor and the Verde Island Passage. Mangyan tribes are scattered over the mountains sides - some of the more remote tribes have no contact with the outside world. Of the eight tribes on Mindoro, the Iraya are the largest. They are based in the Puerto Galera area.
Puerto Galera has become the top diving destination in the Philippines. Excellent diving is found less than 5 minutes from the Sabang area. The diving generally focuses around the areas either side of Escarceo Point which is famous for its current rips. Strong currents are a feature of the diving in Puerto Galera and it is good advice to employ the services of an experienced local guide or dive centre. There are upwards of thirty dive sites all within a 5-10 minute banca ride from Sabang Beach. Marine life is highly diverse. 180+ species of nudibranchs are found in the area and most species of fish can be seen A variety of wrecks have been sunk over the years in addition to the one genuine wreck of an engine of a WWII Japanese patrol boat.
Puerto Galera is also one of the main [technical diving]destinations in Asia. Technical Diving International - [TDI] has many dive centers in the area, offering the full range of TDI courses from Basic [nitrox] to advanced [trimix].
When sewing goes wrong--note the two HSTs with text going in the wrong direction--this was the first shoo-fly block I made. Who knows? Maybe I'll go back and fix it in the end.

More of a personal aphorism than anything antagonistic, though if you'd like to take it that way, do by all means.
I was a graphic designer for 10 years, and what I'm left with now is a love of incorrect design. This is first in a series relating text and bad typography to painting and art in general.
I like the idea of each panel being a unique abstract entity, that would be separated from the whole and sold or given away individually.
Ideally, with the panels arranged on the floor, there would be two 4' square mirrors to complete the installation. One suspended above the panels at a 45° angle pointing to an identical mirror on the wall. Consequently the only way to view the panels—and the text written upon them—undistorted is through two reflected images.
