This is what I did today. I have some killer cramps which prevented me from getting a real shot for today. If I didn't look like such crap, I would've attempted another self-portrait.
I'll try for a better picture tomorrow, but for now I'm going to curl up on my couch and pray these cramps go away.
I took this photo back in the winter and it's been one of the most difficult images to scan/process. It failed several times on the flatbed scanner and I could never get it to work. There were all sorts of challenges in it. First it was an overcast day, and secondly, it was underexposed.
Finding the right balance between recovering shadow details and balancing the colour balance of that day has never worked on the scanner using the stock software or even VueScan.
This is the best I've been able to get out of this image. I'm pleased because the young woman was kind enough to let me take her picture and good to have some results out of it. Because I brought this into the 5Dmk3 as a multi-exposure I was able to do a whole bunch of tonal recovery with it. The dynamic range is way higher than what I had with the flatbed scanner.
