Snowflake test with over 4000 lights.
Snowflakes are new for our 2011 ListenToOurLights Christmas show. The front of the house will be covered with snowflakes. After updating some of our 2010 songs and after sequencing a new song for 2011 it was time to see how it would look. So I hung the snowflakes on my garage shelves in the same configuration that I plan for the front of the house. Since the wreaths and 3' trees were easy to grab I threw those in too. The cactus is stored on the roof and I hooked him up as well.
The 2011 Snowflake test contains 4 Light-O-Rama controllers and over 4000 LED lights. There are 12 X 17.3" LED snowflakes (cool white and blue), 9 X 42" LED snowflakes (cool white), and 4 X DIY Snowflakes with 60 Blue LEDs each. The 3' trees each have 35 cool white LED lights.
Doing much the same as in the panorama but wandering around a bit and babbling on to test the general video quality (this is at "TV, standard" mode, so it can go one tick higher if needed), audio, zoom, and what happens when it geotags - does it do the start, the end, an average, or something else?
(Answer: It tags it at the end, it would seem. But I've since found the variability inherent in the GPS signal to be enough to make the result doubtful; I'd be better testing this again on a quarter mile stretch of road - starting the vid, doing a quick drag, and stopping it at the end ~20s later. The drift tends to be on the order of one or two metres typically, to maybe 10-15m at the extreme, so further than I walked but a lot less than 1/4mi. The baffling thing is how it manages to be quite accurate about your speed and direction while you're moving (steady speed in car = steady speed on display, and it normally even gets you in the correct lane if you view the trace on an aerial photo map), even though when you sit still it things you're jigging about on the spot rather vigorously!)

Got the results from my exam in the mail today... and I passed! I am an official CMP, (that's a certified meeting professional for those not in the meetings world). I OWNED that test! Well, actually after months of classes and studying and pretty much not having a summer, I was confident I had failed. I may be the worst test taker in the world. In college I would actually fall asleep during my tests after staying up all night worrying about it. This process felt like college all over again. I may not have owned the test, but who cares... I PASSED! IT'S OVER! WHEW!

My first attempt using my borrowed "Opus OPL-M40 40WS AC Slave Flashes" from the great, Sir Jack Hillman.
Just got Peter to stand in the frame as I testing some different setups.
Setup: One flash on the ground behind him, pointing up , and one over my head pointing down.
I hate studying.
I also hate the fact that studying reduces the time i can spend on my 365 picture.
Its been a month since i first started (well..30 days.)
