I thought the cheap macro flash I was trying out (Opteka RL-600) would not be suitable for use with the MPE-65 at high magnifications as it seemed to stick too far forward of the lens thus severely reducing the working distance. However I found I could mount it behind the front of the lens using a ring of camping mat to wedge it on. Facing the twin lights inwards then seemed to work fine.

So this dude was definitely just a test model for another shoot, but he looked amazing and go figure I'd love some of the shots I took of him more than those from the actual shoot. :s
YN-560 shot into a brolly more or less straight onto the model.
I recently became aware of major differences in viewing on Flickr. I have an iMac and use Safari as my browser. When I view it using Firefox the contrast is lost, as is the resolution and a changed color balance (reduced reds). I have no idea what it looks like on a PC. I've submitted this one which is way "cranked" regarding contrast, saturation (especially the reds), and sharpening (high pass filter plus USM).
I'm submitting this so I can again check out how it appears on the web using a "universal" browser. However, I still won't know what it looks like on a PC. So..................
If you like it, enough to comment, please note the computer and browser you used to view it, and how much "pop" it has. Is there any cyan in the sky? Is the bark too red? Is shadow detail preserved? (Also, if you do have a Mac, please add any tips, settings etc., you use in preparing material for the web.)
This is a test shot.
I've never used this new computer before, not shot a photo to edit up in a few years (I'm getting back to this camera thing), Canon's DDP and Photomatix have really improved since I used them about 10 years back.
I'm working on getting me sea leg again,so to speak.
A loop around the neighborhood and testing out the Canon 80d with 10-22 lense that I have in for rental.
Another quick test - the birds were scarce today, the tide was very high and few rocks left for them but I found a few Southern Gull and waited for movement. The composite shows a burst - missed one - only wanted 15 to fit on one page - followed the bird and maintained pretty fine focus. The single crop images are from another sequence where the subject merged into a stationary bird but the camera remained on the moving bird - pretty impressive - day one with my Sony RX10 M4 testing a few features
I was SO happy I got my camera back after I broke it. I took this test shot and then shut it off to put the picture on my computer. I turned it on again, then turned it off again. But it wouldn't close. I kept getting an error message: Lens Error Restart Camera.
I am so upset. I am going back to the place tomorrow, but I have a feeling I'm stuck with a broken camera and I'm out $50 that could have went toward another camera!

My first Lego stop motion test. I think it came out quiet well. Constructive criticism is appreciated. Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPgIoIowYoA
Tested the built in HDR mode of the RX100. This one is quite OOC. I just turned down the yellow in Lightroom a bit.
I normally do not like HDR - but this one looks quite pleasing.
today i started testing photos&fonts&designs - in order to finally get some kind of portfolio (cover) together. so far i like this one the best.
all comments welcome :)
Taken with SX-70, wheel darkened one and one-half marks. Taken outdoors with the sun behind a cloud during mid day. Strange how this one only required one and one-half, but my other shade images required three marks.
