Did a lighting test for an idea, and didn't have anyone to stand-in for me, so I had to do it myself. Six strobes, various kinds (3 alien bee, 2 JTL, 1 Sunpak 120j) I have enough strobes for four rows, but not enough slaves to trigger some of the lights, so I had to settle on six lights.
I like the effect, and will like it even more when I have a handsome/beautiful model in front of the lights instead of, erm, me.
Ok everyone... I played around with Photoshop and this photo and tried the Skew tool for the first time.. It pulls the picture around so you can straighten up leaning buildings and unnatural angles... This is the result... I'll post a comment with my original upload.. tell me if you think this is worth doing or is it better to leave the natural oddball angles the wide angle lens creates...

This was the first roll that I put through the TLR that I picked up on the cheap via eBay.
On first viewing, the thumbnails are quite promising, but a not-so-close look quickly reveals my hopeless inability to operate the focus mechanism.
Lesson learnt.

Some of my books, useful test for a new camera Fuji XT-5. So far, so good. Very familiar feel to it and the image quality for 40Mp seems excellent.

Testing out how well the lamp I bought (1000W Halogen construction light hehe) works as a portrait light. Light reflected with an exam pad I'm holding off camera hehe. All the light was from the lamp. Thought I'd test it out myself before I subjected a model (any volunteers :( ? ) to it. The lamp doesn't give much of a good first impression.
To Ula's inevitable comment: I'M NOT TRYING TO BE SEXY! I'M SQUINTING AT THE LIGHT WHICH IS QUITE BRIGHT, WOMAN! And I don't have anyone else to subject this to :( waaai.
PS: this is just a test, more creative stuff coming soon.

Testshots using Vivitar 55mm 2.8 macro on an a7R. Adapted OM-Mount.
Glass is not clean, vaporized oil on glass elements. But usable for the moment and the time being before a full haze is complete. All shots at 1:1 maginfication at f5.6. Edited in C1.

The Union Pacific checking on it's assets at Ilmon CA.
GE C45ACCTE #5489 is giving some lucky chaps a bit of rare haulage, those chaps being the technicians in Geometry car EC-4. There seems to be a considerable amount of work currently being undertaken between Bakersfield and Mojave, ballast trains about, a lot of new sleepers ready for use trackside around Ilmon, Bena and Sandcut, a works train parked up at Tehachapi Summit, a Loram rail grinder in the area and a huge fleet of works trucks and plant parked up trackside by the old Tehachapi depot.
Note also the greenery and water in the creek, Kern County would seem to have had a wet winter this time around, indeed it was raining for much of the afternoon. I'm planning towards a late September trip later this year, if I should venture to these parts it's going to look very different indeed after a predicted long hot summer.
