Back in the era of film camera you'd take a picture like this and might not be sure if you're timing was good enought to get that Test Track car zoomed by, obviously mine was not, Peter really enjoyed this attraction.
Just testing x100. High ISO capabilitys are pretty awesome for a APS-C sensor. This was taken ISO 1600.

I was not sure how this would work out so I just used a prewrapped bar/stem and a saddle I had lying around. The fit was pretty good on a short test so I got some better tape and sort of better saddle
Test drove this Mitsubishi Pajero NS. What a brilliant car, so much power, unbelievably comfortable, smooth and well balanced on the road!

Distance, well not dead on but she was just outside my closest minimum focus range of 30cm, so lets say 35cm.
Postprocessing, well none. Have a b&w toning preset in cam. All PS did was border. So a SOOC shot here.

Gelled SB-28 behind model. SB-600 with a short snoot up and behind model on right. DIY 28" soft box aiming down a bit camera right.
30"x40" white foam core reflector camera left.
A 30"x 40" black foam core panel helped block spill from the soft box onto the background. This was hand-held.
If I had been more serious about the shot, I could have dialed things in better, but C&C is welcome, if you have it.
After staying after school many times, I finally remembered my camera to take some close up photos of speakers and microphones, oh, how inventive :P

getting a general idea of where the camera will be mounted for in car movie with the d90 and a 35mm lens.
Since the exhibits in the 'Test Flight' hangar at the RAF Museum Cosford has been moved around, this beautiful Jaguar is a lot easier to photograph. This particular airframe (XX765) was used by BAE Systems as a test bed and demonstrator for their Active Control Technology (ACT) program and is seen here painted in the iconic 'Raspberry Ripple' scheme with is applied to many test aircraft. Also note the TSR2 in the background.

Testing an AVR controlled triac based dimmer circuit. This test used lower voltages and isolated power supplies but the real thing will be partially mains connected. Control parts are optoisolated for safety.
