16 LEDs to show status on one channel of the Centipede Shield. So far they all seem to work...now, what application would be good for 64 outputs, or 64 inputs, or any mix of inputs and outputs?

Or@ngepeel's turn to try to break into the by now legendary Olympus diptych camera... not to be defeated he tries the "phone a friend" option, but to no avail. Laura Mary looks on with little hope that her seemingly simple quest will bear fruit. Martin Homer seems to be having camera troubles of his own.

I thought I'd give a demo of the standard vignette on the new 16-35 F4 IS L. In direct comparison to the 17-40 L which I also have, the vignette seems to be worse at first glance (back of camera) on the newer lens. However, once on screen, you can see that the newer lens is no worse at the corners than the old, and a big improvement towards the middle.

Once Lightroom releases a lens correction profile for the 16-35 F4 IS L, it should be great, as the new glass is definitely sharper, and the IS is massively useful in my opinion.

On a telephoto with IS, you're looking to get a shot with your aperture wide open, and the IS allows you to shoot at 1/30-1/100th all day. The huge benefit with IS on a wide angle for me, is that now, even though I could always hand hold at 1/15th, I can now crank up my aperture and get an even sharper image.

Overall thoroughly happy with my new glass... anyone want to buy a well loved Canon 17-40mm F4 L ?! hehe.

Test roll 1 from the Canon EOS 3. There's a bit of a learning curve, but all in all, I'm happy with the purchase. My portraits from this roll turned out the best.

There does seem to be a tendency to overexpose, which I'll need to work on.

The scene looking through one of the viewing screens at Lower Test Marshes nature reserve, between Totton and Southampton, in Hampshire. A composite image made up of four separate pictures. I've reached the conclusion, putting this together, that composite images involving electricity cables are not the easiest thing to get right! Some of the cables, as you may notice, have a few imperfections in them, which, if anyone from the National Grid is looking at this picture, aren't, rest assured, there in reality!

A base test shot on my new Canon 5D Mark II at 1600 ISO using a Canon f/2.8L 24-70mm lens @70mm in RAW format.

Note on the 5D2 shots: I noticed I had the exposure adjusted downward, so that's why they appear a bit darker than the 400D. The 400D also had its exposure boosted upwards. Whoops!

Testing a new pattern design. I'm still pretty new to repeating patterns, this one is experimenting with diamonds.

Wally spent 7 nights and 7 days underground. While he was there, it snowed, a lot, 1 foot in fact! He was dug up on Thursday, and kept in an airtight bag for 2 days. He has since been washed and dried. He is looking slightly happier now.

So far he has been;

Ran over

slammed in a car door

frozen in ice then

hit with a hammer

put in the washing machine

put in the dishwasher

put in the shower

dried with a hair dryer

shrink wrapped

hit with a sward

used as a football

used as an ash tray

chewed by a hamster

hung out of a window

buried underground for a week.
