The Topography of Terror on Niederkirchnerstrasse (formerly Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse) is located on the site of buildings during the Nazi regime that housed the SS Reich Main Security Office, the headquarters of the Sicherheitspolizei, SD, Einsatzgruppen and Gestapo. The Gestapo and SS headquarters buildings were largely destroyed by Allied bombing during early 1945; the ruins were demolished after the war. The boundary between the American and Soviet zones of occupation ran along Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse, thus the street soon became a fortified boundary. The Berlin Wall ran along the south side of the street (renamed Niederkirchnerstrasse). The wall here was never demolished. The section adjacent to the Topography of Terror is the longest extant segment of the outer wall.
The first exhibitions on the site took place in 1987, as part of Berlin's 750th anniversary. The cellar of the Gestapo headquarters, where many political prisoners were tortured and executed, was found and excavated. The site was then turned into an open-air memorial and museum, protected from the elements by a canopy, detailing the history of Nazi repression. A joint exhibition was shown both at the site and in East Germany in 1989. In 1993, three years after German reunification, a foundation established to take care of the site initiated chose architect Peter Zumthor to design a permanent museum. However, construction was stopped due to funding problems after the concrete core of the structure had been built, which stood on the site for nearly a decade until it was demolished in 2004 and a new building begun. Construction of the new Documentation Center according to a prize-winning design by the architect Ursula Wilms and the landscape architect Heinz W. Hallmann was finished in 2010.

Blackpool Transport Brush 1937-built 'railcoach' 634 stored inside Rigby Road depot workshops on 10th May 2022. Its interior has been restored to original condition, and it was undergoing electrical work before re-entering service in the heritage fleet.

"The Topography of Terror (German: Topographie des Terrors) is an outdoor and indoor history museum in Berlin, Germany. It is located on Niederkirchnerstrasse, formerly Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse, on the site of buildings which during the Nazi regime from 1933 to 1945 were the headquarters of the Gestapo and the SS, the principal instruments of repression during the Nazi era.
The buildings that housed the Gestapo and SS headquarters were largely destroyed by Allied bombing during early 1945 and the ruins demolished after the war. The boundary between the American and Soviet zones of occupation in Berlin ran along the Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse, so the street soon became a fortified boundary, and the Berlin Wall ran along the south side of the street, renamed Niederkirchnerstrasse, from 1961 to 1989. The wall here was never demolished. Indeed, the section adjacent to the Topography of Terror site is the longest extant segment of the outer wall (the longer East Side Gallery section in Friedrichshain being actually part of the inner wall not visible from West Berlin).

These little critters attack in packs of usually a dozen or more (a similar manner to a pack of wolves).
In those numbers even the strongest Viking can be overwhelmed, or get slaughtered.

Terror Haza (the House of Terror): Budapest is home to one of the most powerful museums in Europe. Illustrating the grim decades of Nazi and Communist repression, the museum is the former headquarters for the secret police of both the Nazi and Communist governments. The building's awning has the word TERROR cut out of it, and when the sun projects through these letters, it symbolizes the terror which was projected onto the Hungarian people for fifty years.

Museum in Budapest ter herinnering aan de terreur die vanaf medio 1944 werd uitgeoefend door de fascistische Pijlkruisers en vanaf 1945 door de Sovjets (de 'logo's' van beide stromingen staan in de dakrand). Een effectvol ingericht museum waar jammer genoeg wordt nagelaten kanttekeningen te plaatsen over de rol van Hongarije resp. de Hongaren zélf. Ze zijn in de Tweede Wereldoorlog als bondgenoten van Nazi-Duitsland bepaald niet alleen maar slachtoffer geweest. Meer Vergangenheitsbewältigung zou het geheel wat verteerbaarder maken.
Museum in Budapest about the fascist and communist terror between 1944 and the late fifties. Impressive, but alas not a word about Hungary's own role in the Second World War as an ally of Nazi Germany (which partly explains the harsh behaviour of the Soviet regime after 1945).
The Tower of Terror just seems to work great in Black &White. Since it is photographed so much i try to get unique angles and looks when processing.

this shoot was very quick and very simple and these guys are class acts and easy to pose and get along with
i wanted to shoot in the day time because of a sunset spot i found but i made do with this night time spot ive been saving i left the street corner in because i liked it better than a standard wall back ground
