Duesseldorf, Germany, 2015

The institutions of Nazi terror - Between 1933 and 1945, the central institutions of Nazi persecution and terror – the Secret State Police Office with its own “house prison,” the leadership of the SS and, during the Second World War, the Reich Security Main Office – were located on the present-day grounds of the “Topography of Terror” that are next to the Martin Gropius Building and close to Potsdamer Platz.

How to recognize a terrorist during Christmas.

House of Terror, a must go in Budapest.

I made this for BZPower's BBCC, the goal of which was to build a bird. I wussed out when it came to making wings so I decided to go with a terror bird. Possibly the most aptly named animal ever?

Terror birds or Phorusrhacids, are an extinct group of large carnivorous flightless birds that were the top predators in South America during the Cenozoic era (62 to 1.8 mya). Their height ranged from 1 to 3 m (3 ft 3 in–9 ft 10 in) tall

Its main characteristics are strong legs ending in sharp claws, a strong and sharp beak, small vestigial wings. You would not want to find yourself facing this formidable predator, you would end up being his lunch.

This model is my first proposal for the Help Decorate the LEGO House Contest.

"Terrorism should be outlawed universally.

We should have true international co-operation to combat terrorism."

(French President Nicolas Sarkozy - Press conference in Mumbai Dec. 7, 2010)

Last evening (8 December 2010) a bomb hidden in a milk container exploded at Sheetla Ghat killing a two year old little girl and left many people wounded among the thousands of devotees and tourists who came to celebrate Ganga aarti.

The ceremony is a daily ritual in Varanasi (Benaras), the holiest city in the Hindu religion, during which priests and others light oil lamps, ring bells and chant prayers to worship the Ganges.

The force of the explosion ripped away a metal railing and damaged stones up to 60 metres away.

The Police said they defused two more bombs in the city.

The terror group Indian Mujahedeen allegedly claimed responsibility for the blast in an email to several media outlets.

This attack clearly meant to coincide with the anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition a day earlier.

After spending a long time with my friend Dwiraj at the place where the bomb was left we hopefully left a few minutes before the blast.

All of my friends and relatives in the holy city are safe even though I met almost everyone there before the tragedy.

It was the fourth bomb attack in Varanasi in the past five years but no one here seems to be panicking.

Life has to carry on, showing those terrorists that they are nothing but cowards, away from God.

I decided not to show any image of the place where this tragedy happened but to upload this picture shot a few hours ago in my street with happy children smiling.

Those smiles are our future and the best weapon in order to answer this ignominy.

EDIT: Re-processed and upsized April 2016 - I can't believe this was 23 years ago. Was a great Saturday afternoon chase in perfect weather - during the last full year of 44 class operation in NSW Government service.

A handful of survivors would struggle on with private operators for almost another 20 years.

Today, I was talking to my pal Chris (Phantom Terror). We were discussing the zamors that come in the new Chima Ultra Builds (ya know, the ones not coming to the US). Anyways, he made me remember something... I owned a TRANS-CLEAR ZAMOR. As soon as I remembered, I began to search for it. I had dug through several of my bins, and I got REALLY lucky and had FINALLY found it!

I guess now I can say I own something close to a proto, eh. Also, if anyone wonders or is curious, I got this in the Xplode set all the way back in 2010!

Tough shot but I think i did a decent job of capturing it. The projections move quickly so a faster shutter speed was required to prevent motion blur.

Here it is finally - my Terror Drome. I've wanted to build one of these for years now, and once I finally got started, it took about half a year to complete, working on and off, and taking breaks to build small MOCs here and there.

The original error Drome is considered by many Joe aficionados to be one of the all-time greatest large toys in the line.

www.yojoe.com/vehicles/86/terrordrome/

I never had a Terror Drome myself, but became well acquainted with them through the G.I.Joe comic, in which Terror Dromes were used for air defense, as a covert source for spreading "paranoia waves" and to house the terrifying Brainwave Scanner.

In the comic and cartoon, the Terror Drome was represented in several different versions, generally larger and more elaborate than the one exemplified by the toy, which should be considered to be a scaled-down and simplified representation of a larger and more sophisticated Cobra base.

Tower of Terror - I usually love putting any photo of the tower in Black and White but this one really stuck out to me in color.

We came to see the October Zoo Haunt, but observed many of the 'Safari Lights' being setup. An event starting in November 2021 that apparently was last done back in 1992.

The Reichsluftfahrtministerium (Ministry of Aviation), the last reamining Nazi government building, is in the background.

The Topography of Terror on Niederkirchnerstrasse (formerly Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse) is located on the site of buildings during the Nazi regime that housed the SS Reich Main Security Office, the headquarters of the Sicherheitspolizei, SD, Einsatzgruppen and Gestapo. The Gestapo and SS headquarters buildings were largely destroyed by Allied bombing during early 1945; the ruins were demolished after the war. The boundary between the American and Soviet zones of occupation ran along Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse, thus the street soon became a fortified boundary. The Berlin Wall ran along the south side of the street (renamed Niederkirchnerstrasse). The wall here was never demolished. The section adjacent to the Topography of Terror is the longest extant segment of the outer wall.

The first exhibitions on the site took place in 1987, as part of Berlin's 750th anniversary. The cellar of the Gestapo headquarters, where many political prisoners were tortured and executed, was found and excavated. The site was then turned into an open-air memorial and museum, protected from the elements by a canopy, detailing the history of Nazi repression. A joint exhibition was shown both at the site and in East Germany in 1989. In 1993, three years after German reunification, a foundation established to take care of the site initiated chose architect Peter Zumthor to design a permanent museum. However, construction was stopped due to funding problems after the concrete core of the structure had been built, which stood on the site for nearly a decade until it was demolished in 2004 and a new building begun. Construction of the new Documentation Center according to a prize-winning design by the architect Ursula Wilms and the landscape architect Heinz W. Hallmann was finished in 2010.

A classic perspective of the iconic Tower of Terror thrill ride in Hollywood Studios. I found that getting an interesting image of this Disney landmark was heavily dependent on the sky and cloud formations. Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately), Florida was in the midst of a cold snap during my stay and the front created for some interesting skies. That same front also created for several days of high temperatures in the 40's and 50's! Burrr for Central Florida!

A hallway at the Terror School. Got there and had a look around, only slightly worried about some of the lights being on. Coming towards the end of the explore, and realised people were living there!

A great and exciting finish to a very surreal day with the Seagull Squadron!

The Terror Spider Droids, better known as Terror Droids, were small spider-like droids that were developed during the reign of the Galactic Empire under the direction of Darth Vader on the planet Kamino.

Following the escape of a clone of Galen Marek, Vader dispatched the bounty hunter Boba Fett to track down the clone progenitors love Juno Eclipse. Taking a number of Imperial resources, Fett struck the Rebel starship Salvation and deployed a large contingent of Terror Droids to deal with the Rebel troopers onboard. The droids later encountered Starkiller who had arrived to save Eclipse from the Imperial attack.
