Liquid fuel rocket Aggregat 4. Original replica at the Historical-Technical Museum Peenemünde, Usedom Island
"The liquid fuel rocket developed and tested in Peenemünde with the participation of many technicians, engineers and scientists was produced in large numbers from 1943 in underground production facilities at the Mittelwerk in the Harz mountains near Nordhausen.
As "Vergeltungswaffe ["retribution weapon"] 2" ("V-2"), the missiles were first fired at British cities and then at other European locations. The hoped-for moral and military success remained below the expectations of the German military despite the extensive losses to the civilian population concerned.
Several thousand civilians, concentration camp prisoners and prisoners of war were killed in series production and during deployment.
After the end of the Second World War, the victorious powers made use of the technology and that of the experts and developed launchers for military and civilian use from the Aggregat 4." (translated from a display at the Historical-Technical Museum Peenemünde)
Due to its target inaccuracy, the V-2 could essentially only be used as a weapon of terror against the civilian population.
As a matter of fact the V-2 rocket also became the first artificial object to travel into space by crossing the Kármán line (defined as the altitude of 100 kilometres) on 20 June 1944.
Being able to understand the charm of the clear graphic design of the rocket I was yet amazed at how much the Belgian artist Hergé was obviously inspired by the deadly weapon when he designed the moon rocket for his comic hero Tintin (see www.tintin.com/fr/albums/objectif-lune# and picture below).

These two parts of the lunar adventure were published in 1954, fifteen years before the Apollo 11 mission, and even before the first satellite (Sputnik). Hergé's technical sources are mainly the programs and researches of Wernher von Braun and Hermann Oberth, who planned, from before the war, to cause an impact on the Moon with a rocket [...]. This same Oberth happens to be the technical advisor for a film by Fritz Lang The Woman on the Moon (Frau im Mond, 1929)." (translated from French Wikipedia entry)

Sunset Boulevard is home to many of the premier attractions at Disney's Hollywood Studios including Rock n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror.
I was able to capture this image after the park closed and while Fantasmic was going on. On this night I was able to capture several images I have wanted for a long time. It total I stayed about 2 hours after scheduled park closing time. I would have stayed longer but the lights started to turn off around the Chinese Theater.
The drums of war urge them on in a macabre rhythm. The heat and light from the constantly stoked fires set their blood racing.
The orcs have come. They are outside the city walls. They are building their siege weapons. They are preparing for war.
As visions of slaughter run wild in their heads, the vile creatures howl with delight.
This cannot end well.

simplemente salí al casco viejo de valencia a cazar graffitis, ... me encontré con este y me infundió 'terror', decidí incorporarlo a mi serie 'sensaciones'.
lo demás una mezcla de texturas asimilando los colores del graffiti y una transición que me llevara al mismo.

Tokyo’s Tower of Terror has you visiting the fictional Hotel Hightower. The hotel used to be occupied by Harrison Hightower a rich collector who traveled the globe obtaining and sometimes stealing precious artifacts. One day on a trip to Africa he found a mysterious idol who eventually came to life causing Mr. Hightower’s elevator to come crashing to the ground.
Dedicated to all the martrys we have lost so far (24 today and unfortunately the number is expected to rise).
Terror birds or Phorusrhacids, are an extinct group of large carnivorous flightless birds that were the top predators in South America during the Cenozoic era (62 to 1.8 mya). Their height ranged from 1 to 3 m (3 ft 3 in–9 ft 10 in) tall.
Its main characteristics are strong legs ending in sharp claws, a strong and sharp beak, small vestigial wings. You would not want to find yourself facing this formidable predator, you would end up being his lunch.
This model is my first proposal for the Help Decorate the LEGO House Contest.

Well, got home from work last night and he/she was back. Got up this morning and it was hanging out on the fence in the pouring rain. It flew off for a bit and its back again in the tree. I got up at 7am and its now just after 9. I am starting to get worried about it. I am torn between trying to scare it off or buying some dead chicks to feed it. Any suggestions? Got some pics today as proof.
