The brightly glowing bar portion of NGC 4151 as seen by Hubble. It is a Seyfert galaxy, which means that it has an actively accreting black hole at its nucleus, which presents itself to us as an intensely bright source. The two brighter portions near the top and bottom of the frame are where the bar terminates, and some fainter spiral arms extend outward from them. A widefield view of the galaxy by Adam Block is available to help with context: Click!

Mitchell Revalski of Georgia State University contacted me regarding the possibility of processing some of the objects he is using in his thesis, and I have been looking through the data to see what I can do. What's important in this galaxy are the brightly illuminated and glowing hydrogen clouds near the nucleus. They are a bit difficult to make out in this image because the narrowband filters required to highlight these structures were not available in a matching field of view, but some older WF/PC2 data of only the nucleus was available, so I made use of that in another image.

An article discussing this galaxy using a radio / visible / x-ray light image is available here: www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/chandra/multimedia/11-029.html

"When it comes down to it, it's just a simple numbers game. Us against the machines. If we destroy one of them, a brand new replacement will take it's place, straight off of Skynet's production line. If one of my guys goes down, how many YEARS will it take to replace that human fighter? Ten, thirteen years? We won't win this way. We have to be smarter than the machines. Or we die."

Well, not quite. As a veteran of a 1000 psychic wars with MS-DOS this is what "TSR" expands out to in my head. However here it stands for Tactical Strike Reconnaissance. The TSR2 would have been the fastest most advanced fighter of it's day had the programme not been cancelled due to internal squabbling between the RAF and the Navy, and a politically motivated decision to buy into the General Dynamics F-111 instead (a deal which later fell apart due to delays and spiraling costs).

I mean look at this thing - this was developed in the late 50's! Almost all evidence of the programme was systematically destroyed, and yet this one XR220, the only complete TSR2, survived. There is a second air-frame at Duxford (XR222) that was completed cosmetically later as a museum exhibit. This one is at Cosford, and is in an original, un-restored state.

This has always been one of my favourite London Underground photos. The 1973 tube stock, used on the Piccadilly Line, looked so much better before it was overhauled and painted into the LU corporate livery from 1996 onwards.

T-1000: Hey, brother!

T-800: Now what?

T-1000: Isn't your face a little too textured for a Brickheadz?

T-800: What you see is called charisma. By the way, you barely resemble Patrick.

T-1000: That was mean!

T-800: Keep quiet and look at the camera.

Enjoy T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and T-1000 (Robert Patrick) from Terminator 2: Judgement Day!

A more updated version of the old Terminator Bodyguard Unit. Instead of the power fist and storm bolter combination I opted for a thunder hammer and storm shield. Mainly for the reason that the Chaplain himself can augment this further on the tabletop. Painting wise I stuck with the black armour and went for NNM gold trim and NNM silver shoulder pads. On top of this is I tried some OSL on the thunder hammer. Really went to town on this part to make it look correct. Anyway thanks for looking and hope you like the miniature :)

It was just another Wednesday night...

The image I meant to post yesterday, along with the main picture. The bottom image shows me pressing the button to activate the light brick, and the top shows the effect.

A smaller variant of Sky-Net's larger heavy-weapons models. Designed to locate human resistance individuals after dark - it's thermal eye allows it to "see" body heat. Equipped with a four-barrel chain gun (with it's own separate eye to locate targets).

Hey everyone. I decided to get back into the Terminator mood, and let me tell you, it was fun. This mech started as a smaller version of this, and it's definitely my favorite one of the few I've made (mainly because of the light brick). The "head" is indeed built around the light brick from an Agents set, and when you push a button on the back, the main eye shines bright red.

There is a Mocpage, if you wish to see more pictures.

That's all for now; I'll be back with more soon.

Don't know if the police were supervising that photographer. They didn't seem to take much interest in me! June 1995.
