Diffusion: Medium sized soft boxes.

Converted and retouched using Camera RAW and Photoshop CS6. Background had to be considerably darkened.

 

The locket means a great deal to me and I was desperate to capture it in the most unusual way possible and what could be more unusual that placing a necklace on your friends head. I love how the locket appears to glow and combined with the piercing eyes create a pyramid central focal point.

I'm Embarrassed to state - even though the technical info can be found the the right of the page...

 

It just all went disastrously wrong. I was going to use flash lighting, except my college gave me the wrong lead, so I was forced to use a lamp. Yup a lamp! I put the lamp on the floor, put a see through box over the top and set light to a cigarette. I used a black coat as a back drop and had to use the highest most ridiculous ISO because sadly you can't change the strength of a light bulb.

Studio Lighting: Professional BX500 Flash kits with radio sync trigger. Background was diffused and light was blocked using a piece of thick black card. (No. of lights used: 1. Model light situated 90 degrees to the right of the smoke and and a reflector/mirror was used at an angle of 90 degrees to the left of the smoke.

Diffusion: Dish - to direct the light

Converted and retouched using Camera RAW and Photoshop CS6.

 

Another that looks like a woman's figure. I also feel that it could possible resemble a rose or flower and the petals have blown away in the wind.
