I report on the conversion of multiple lecture-based physics and astronomy classes to online instruction, the role of active learning techniques in achieving the transition, and the results of incorporating active learning in the online courses. Both the COVID-19 pandemic and increased popularity of distance learning have resulted in a significant increase in remote and online instruction. Maintaining student engagement and communication in online classes is important and can be achieved using active learning techniques. I will discuss how active learning techniques were incorporated into the online curriculum, the types of active learning materials used, and the outcomes from the inclusion. Pre to post gains from quantitative assessments made with the CLASS, CTSR, TOAST, and LPCI will be presented. Qualitative assessment results from free response surveys will be presented. There were good pre-post gains observed on concept inventories and satisfaction and improved conceptual understanding expressed by students in the surveys.
Photographic techniques capture electromagnetic wavelengths beyond human vision, revealing features invisible to the naked eye. These signals are processed into interpretable forms using methods like color mapping.
Pink lacks a specific electromagnetic wavelength, while grey poses a limitation due to its representation of only intensity—a blend of light and dark without spectral specificity. Imaging techniques reliant on spectral variation produce identical results for greyscale images unless non-visible data is present. Deviations from this uniformity may indicate errors, misinterpretations, or unknown phenomena.
Contention persists over analytical debates, including dismissible claims like Van Allen belt dangers and contested evidence of lunar mirrors. The precision of laser reflections targeting a moving 3x3-foot marker on the Moon highlights technical skill but often fails to resolve skepticism. For instance, a 0.1° shift moves a laser spot 670 km across the Moon's surface.
Forensic analysis (2022, 2023) of Apollo 11–17 photographs assessed authenticity claims. Images of humans in space, Earth, and the Moon's distant views were validated, but Moon landing visuals showed variations, suggesting diverse techniques may have replicated certain elements.
PEMi (Photoelectromagnetic Image) software enhances forensic analysis by differentiating natural and artificial light sources, revealing hidden features. Each PEMi-ID links to original sources, ensuring traceability and comparison.

Clearly a first-timer at the beer funnel races, this feet-first technique requires a 180-degree body rotation in order to begin the imbibation portion of the contest.
I chose black and red paint to show the pain expression during mother's pregnancy and even giving a birth.
Trying a new technique (ok this is multiple techniques). Not quite there, but this is almost it! Yeah, love it when things work.
This technique came about whilst I was making the bleach technique cards.
Base: normal white cardstock
background: applied 3 colours of pigment inks randomly all over, heat dried it. Then went over the top with a contrasting pigment ink - just smooshing the ink straight from the inkpad to completely cover the entire card.
Before it dried I inked up my chosen rubber stamp and stamped directly onto the ink covered card. The result is what you see before you.
When you go over the first dried layer of ink with your second colour it doesn't completely obscure the colour underneath and when you stamp your image on, that also slightly lifts off some underlying colour - it's quite subtle but the effect is really good.
I then went on to stamping a few more elements to frame the card and Krylon edged the card before completing with some lace.

i have been working on different lighting techniques for the high key/low key challenge in my spc group and this is one i ended up with but didn't use....
with these edits, i used a texture layer and a ttv layer from borealnz. i used the textures because sooc just seemed a little boring, but then with the excessive edit i didn't want to use it for my spc entry....i wanted to try and keep it a little more natural for my entry.
so, now i have a handful of sp's that are quite out of the ordinary for me, but instead of hiding them away, i chose to make them public.....and that's just a bit out of my comfort zone. yikes!
