In this Wing Chun Training video, Grand Master Kenneth Lin demonstrates how to use the HKB Wing Chun Combat Formula [Originated from late GM Kwee King Yang's teaching of Kao Kuat / 口訣] to achieve the maximum combat efficiency using the basic Wing Chun Bong Sao Technique [Bong Jiu / 膀手] both in deflecting as well as in Occupying time, becoming space and releasing an impulse energy.
Many times, in most Wing Chun mainstream lineage, focusing using offense as defense. In this video, Grand Master Kenneth Lin demonstrated how to achieve maximum efficiency using HKB Combat formula on applying that offense as defense idea.

I recently purchased four of the Echo Base kit at 40% off (minifigs, weapons, tauntauns, and a few other parts are in my Bricklink store - tell me I sent you and I'll give you 5% off). Once I started looking at the parts I'm keeping out of these, I realized I had a decent start for some mecha (even though I've never tried building in that genre before). Here are the resulting ideas. Most of these aren't great, but maybe some of the techniques are useful to someone else.
Also, more macro-mode photography practice. Just how many lights am I supposed to need to make these look good? These were taken with two focused lights overhead and another behind me.

Here I have been experimenting with different techniques and so on - texturing metal, using Liver of Sulphur, line folding copper, mixing together Renaissance Wax and Bronze Powder just to see what would happen when it was applied to metal.
The small piece of copper was hammered and then dipped in LoS. I then applied the Renaissance Wax mixture. It was left overnight and then I sanded it to try to get the LoS patina beneath with the Renaissance Wax and Bronze Powder mixture high-lighted on the top. This didn't happen - the wax mixture wouldn't budge so I buffed it up and it shone. Then I thought about burnishing it. I got my burnisher and went over the copper with it - it looked fabulously shiny!!!
I was also working on a basic 'Line Fold' (Fold Forming) - annealing the copper and folding it, hammering it along the fold on both sides, annealing it and then opening it carefully with a craft knife and then carefully hammering it on the front. I did this several times.
I then applied my Renaissance Wax and Bronze mixture along each 'line fold', leaving it overnight. I got my burnisher and 'burnished' along each line. It made each line shine beautifully - it doesn't show particularly well in the photo. I love experimenting - what's not to love? :-)

This is a shot of the subject that I used, so that you can see the size. The flower I used was small to begin with. By using the reverse lens technique with my wide angle lens, I was able to focus on just one corner of one petal.

These Jays up here are much more flighty than those in the picnic areas of the nearby Sandia Mountains. I have to sit patiently (practically motionless) for a considerable time before they get even this close for a shot. They can be tempted in closer by offerings of peanuts... shelled or not. They are familiar with the technique of how to extract the nugget from the shells... it's sometimes amusing and always entertaining.
