Technic Citroën 2CV Charleston.

This is a heavy MOD of Nico71's version. I bought his instruction and started modding it so it resembles the real car better. Still not perfect :)

The roof line is just 1 stud wide and runs more smoothly.

HOG steering.

seats are different and the front seat have been moved 1 stud backwards and the back seat 2 studs backwards.

And a lot of detail modifications, like the bumpers, door color line.

Just like the original is has steering, ultra soft suspension and opening doors, hood and trunk.

I've shot the HH11 local dozens of times. It's an easy target and it's always a single GP38-2.

I've also shot from this location at CP Harrisburg from atop the State Street Bridge dozens of times. It's a spot I like and it's also easy access from my office in Harrisburg.

I heard the HH11 wanting to come out of the yard with GP38-2 #5179 and knowing 5178 was a high hood I had hoped the same for the #5179.

Well no such luck as I could spot that admiral cab from a mile away.

As he fired up the bright lights I ratcheted the shutter down to 1/6 and decided to grab the big and wide pan.

Why? Well if I don't make it, nothing lost. But if I do...well I've just won gold in the foamer olympics. LOL.

This my update on the classic sunrise from Lugard Road lookout. It was in 2015 when I last shot this place, back then I still used the Phase One P45+, which had a crop factor from the standard 645 format and I didn't have a wider lens than the 32mm Rodenstock, hence I ended up shifting the camera to shoot 3 images and stitched to obtain the final image. This time around, I'm shooting on full frame 645 curtesy of the Phase One IQ3 100MP digital back, and used the same 32mm lens and cropped it to a 2:1 ratio panoramic.

This made it much easier since I didn't have to act so fast to catch the fast changing light during blue hour. However, not being mid summer, the relatively lower temperature (27 degrees) in the morning and the high dew point (around 25 degrees) made the air look quite hazy, which I find less than idea for a cityscape shot where you want the crispness to show off all the details in the architecture.

Anyway, this place requires a short hike of around 20min (slightly uphill) form the farthest point which can be reached by car, which could be uncomfortable at 32 degrees and 95% humidity mid summer, so be prepared, dress accordingly, bring a small towel and water. Also, make sure your camera is acclimatised before taking it out of your back and setting up, just in case condensation forms on your lens or sensor.

Bring both wide and telephoto lenses and shoot the wides at blue hour to get the big scene and switch to the telephoto's to shoot after sunrise and pick out details below taking full advantage of the early morning light!

Thought it was time I gave my "freedom fighters" a vehicle ; )

I'm still going to keep messing with this to make it much more beat up and well used but I want to avoid it looking incomplete instead. All in all a fun build and without the MG and flag etc etc it also serves well as just a regular jeep for different kinds of scenes.

Happy HeroFebruary!

Scaled model for this fig?

The 1924 Targa Florio winner car was a 2 liter, 4 cylinder, super-charged Mercedes, with Chistian Werner at the wheel. This car is an early example of the famous Merceds Compressor series, culminating in the famous SSK and SSKL.

Unlike the usual white livery of the Mercedes racers, this car was actually painted red: Rumour has it this was a camouflage strategy to stop Italian fanatics from throwing rocks at the passing car, because it might be taken for Italian.

In the 1920ies, the race cars were actually driven to the race track on public roads like normal automobiles. For this trip, mudguards and license plates had to be mounted, to comply with traffic regulations. My model is shown in both configurations: as a slick racer, and as a roadworthy automobile.

Lego model with four-cylinder engine, two speed gearbox, differential, leaf spring suspension, steering, and operational hand crank.

I should have given the film a bit more speed or a bit longer in the second developer bath. But you know I'm okay with this dark moody look and feel. I took a bit of work in post processing to get some details out, but overall, it looks like Tech Pan!

The common theme of my posts today could be water, but actually it's that something went wrong photographically speaking. Taken during my first trip to Scotland, my tripod got lost in translation by the airline (since found). So all hand held photography, no long exposures, no filters, just plain vanilla photography with a polarizer. So be it, but I had absolutely amazing weather...so was a bit sour. On my last day driving back from Castle EIlean Donan to Edinburgh (possibly Spey Valley) came this sight. Was in a hurry to get to the airport, whatever.

A wonderful small lochan with frost bitten shores, slowly exhaling mist. A kiss of golden light which fails to reach the shores. Having never been to Scotland before, this image is probably closest to how I dreamt of the mysterious Scottish highlands.

WIth more time and a tripod, I could have probably done a better job, but hey I have come back twice because of it. No regrets. I hope it conveys the mood I experienced.

Taking photos with such cameras is a great pleasure for the photographer...
