An outtake that I did not use for the "Occupation" challenge on DPChallenge. I really like the extra humor I put into this one, but it was too busy and the other one was really a stronger image.
Technicians install a sampling stack as part of an ARM Aerosol Observing System on the Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier in La Jolla, California, for the Eastern Pacific Cloud Aerosol Precipitation Experiment (EPCAPE). The 2023–2024 EPCAPE campaign will explore aerosol indirect effects on stratocumulus clouds to help improve their representation in earth system models. Researchers will also investigate how pollution from the nearby Los Angeles metropolitan area affects marine aerosols and, by extension, the clouds near San Diego.

The 19-inch reflecting telescope in the south dome was designed and built by R.K. Young between 1926 and 1928. According to a 1978 RASC Journal, the "total cost of materials was only $1500, and Young's contribution in man-hours was made during evenings and holidays". Dr. Young became the first Director of the DDO when it opened on May 31, 1935 and held that post until his retirement in 1946. Young donated the telescope and a collection of tools, including a large metal lathe to help equip the DDO machine shop. For 70 years, Dunlap technicians maintained the telescopes on site, fabricating replacement parts, new equipment.

What I notice about this picture, aside from the many bright colours, would be that it seems to be learning cards, possibly for younger children, which are filled with educational material. This picture is showing what the special education technicians do for children who need extra help. These cards are customized in order to properly help children. This picture is demonstrating the needs of a mixed-race little girl. I feel that it is very important that every child has the possibility to get some help, in order to accomplish school. Without these techniques, many more students may drop out of school because they don't have the necessary tools to support them. These technicians were incorporated in most schools because they saw that many kids needed help with their social integration and facilitated their rehabilitation. Special education technicians teach us to open our hearts to differences. Their goal is to learn to help others, but also to help ourselves, to get to know ourselves better and to love ourselves as we are. I want this picture to help people see that, not only is it normal to have difficulties, but if needed, knowing where to look for help .

As skilled professionals, automotive technicians accurately diagnose mechanical problems related to engine, transmission, fuel injection, suspension and electrical systems. Students learn to maintain and repair engine, chassis, drive train, front-wheel drive, fuel injection, and electrical and emission systems. Instruction involves classroom theory, demonstrations, computer applications and hands-on car repair.
Felipe and Carol are both surgical technicians at Bauman Medical Group who also assist with diagnostic procedures.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. In the Vehicle Assembly Building, Lead Technician Todd Reeves, with United Space Alliance, attaches one of two bolt catchers on orbiter Discoverys External Tank. A bolt catcher is a vertical bolt mechanism at the forward end of the External Tank that attaches each booster to the tank. At approximately two minutes into launch, SRB separation begins when pyrotechnic devices fire to break the 25-inch, 62-pound steel bolts. One half of the bolt is caught in canister-like "bolt catchers" located on the tank; the other half remains with the boosters. Discovery is flying with a modified bolt catcher, which was upgraded from a two-piece welded design to a one-piece, machine-made design as part of NASA's effort to return to safe, reliable spaceflight. Eliminating the weld makes a structurally stronger bolt catcher design. Though the bolt catcher is mounted on the External Tank, it is considered part of the Solid Rocket Booster element design. It is built by Summa Technologies, Inc. in Huntsville, Ala., insulated at Lockheed Martins Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, and installed on the External Tank at KSC.
