On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, the 29th Annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Scholarships and Tuition Awards Banquet took place at Salt Lake Community College. This banquet is a longstanding tradition used to honor CTE students throughout the state who have been selected to receive a scholarship and tuition award from a postsecondary institution in Utah.
Each award recipient was one of 204 applicants who applied for a CTE Scholarship and Tuition Award. At the banquet, 102 scholarships were awarded to high school CTE seniors for up to one year’s tuition at a postsecondary institution.
Meet Mr. Spins, the seasoned on-the-road turntable who probably spends more time in a coffin than on stage. His tone arm might need balancing and his motor is probably a little wobbly but he can still drop a beat like a DMC champ! Mr. Spins is part of a Kidrobot blindbox mini-series from toy designer Jeremy Madl (aka MAD).

I thought this was funny when I first saw it, because I assumed it was a "trompe l'oeil" situation - that's French for "fool the eye". Who would make the support for the Tower run RIGHT THROUGH the casino like that - it's got to be a gag, right? What a hoot! But nope, this is the real base of the fake tower - it turns out they erected the tower first, then built the casino around part of the base. My mistake.
