This is the remains of old IBM buildings from the 1950's reduced to scrap metal and gravel for recycling near a large IBM building from 1984 fate unknown after the whole KINGSTON IBM site closed in 1996 laying off or moving over 7000 people and renamed TECH CITY in 1998 with hopes of reusing the buildings but very little business's moved in and out over the years including where I worked for 6 years and now the buildings are slowly coming down.
The same owner of this also owns the other old Chevy in the back ground both parked here where I work for a long time now
This is the former IBM KINGSTON site open in 1955 with buildings from then to the mid 1980's built here but it closed in 1995 laying off or moving over 7000 people and then in 1998 the site was renamed TECH CITY in hopes of reusing the site but over the years there was some success but not enough to make a big difference and some of those jobs also moved out and in the last year or so some buildings began to be demolished and turned into recyclable materials that large building here was built in 1984 and is in great shape so I hope it stays.
