This katydid was captured by a black wasp to start a nest. It was left behind because the wasp could not use it because of its size. it has been on my balcony for the last 48 hours and it is still alive but it is paralyzed.

i am still strugling to find good light in our new place. It still feels kind of weird, only living a few weeks here, the place is spaciuos and nice but it is still just house not home. this is the light from probably my favourite window in our new place, it is large and has also a big windowsill, looks like a good place to take still life pictures and that you will see more of it.

Today is dedicated to magic window light. I wish I had one at my house...this was taken at my mom's.

Don't be fooled, though- this is not a regular size teacup- it's a big flowerpot with these odd little succulents in it! I actually got a start of these plants almost 40 years ago, from my great grandmother!
The photo challenge for this week was Friendship. This teacup was given to me by a very dear friend. Every time I use it, I think of her.

I enjoy a robust black with heavy cream, no sugar please. The tea cup pictured here belonged to my late mother-in-law. I am afraid I will break it, so I take my tea in a large red mug like a typical hillbilly American.
several visits to disneyland this year but the one thing i wanted to do was take photos of the park after the rain. but trying to do that is a lot harder than i thought. first it had to rain, which it rarely does in socal. then i had to not be lazy when it actually rained. then there was also the matter of me finding the energy to stay really late since the best shots would have to happen when the park was almost empty. then it had to happen on a sunday since that's the only day i can really visit the park because of work and the limitations of my annual pass. thankfully, we were blessed with a few days of rain here in socal and it happened to occur around the weekend. i think overall i was happy with the shots i got but i definitely want to visit the park when it rains again and see if i can improve on what i did.
