How wonderfully civil; melt in the mouth butter shortbreads waiting to be eaten 'neath the Christmas tree, accompanied by a nice cup of tea.
I make butter shortbreads each year for family and friends for Christmas as a gift. What started as a small offering has now become almost too much for me as word spread, and requests came in. Since I started working part-time, it makes it a little easier. I have to set aside a whole weekend at least which I devote just to the baking of Christmas fare in my little kitchen. So as my oven temperature increases, so does the volume on my stereo as I play a selection of my Christmas albums whilst I bake.
This year I made twenty trays of shortbread biscuits (a record for me), so around three hundred and fifty shortbread biscuits, made with a recipe almost one hundred years old, each injected with just a bit of love to the recipients.

woo hoo... sun is beaming.... i'm crossing my fingers that the snow will be gone by the weekend. :)
Ben's chin is propped on my lap..... telling me it's time to go Mommy... the trail awaits... (the muddy, sloppy trail)... sigh... but oh well... :)

I have a collection of mini teddies and mini cups and saucers. The teddy is 2/12" tall and the cup is less than 2", saucer just under 4"
Yesterdays challenge in Our Daily Challenge was coffee or tea and I didn't get a chance to get anything for it, so I used that for todays shot. This is a cup and saucer from an antique childs tea set. I have often wanted to find out more information about it but haven't done so yet so if anyone can tell me anything about it, that would be awesome! It has 6 cups and saucers, a cream and sugar and a very tall teapot. It has an iridescent glaze and gold trim... I believe it says Japan on the bottom but will have to confirm that.

What to photograph this week???? I recently brought this tea set over from Scotland to Munich, it has been handed down in our family for a number of generations and now I am the custodian. To me, it seems too beautiful to use but also too beautiful to keep in a cupboard. Photographing it today made me think about all the ladies that have used it for tea and cake and I wonder if the owner at the time thought, should I bring out the good china?

Today I thought I would get a cute photo if I filled an old teacup with peanuts... As you can see, Chippy didn't let me down;)

i never get the work done that i'm supposed to.
instead of tending to obligations (namely feeling better and studying for the math test i'm missing today), i end up photographing one of the (many) cups of tea i've been drinking.
what terrible work ethic i've got.

my friend who i haven't seen for ages, came to visit yesterday. as we haven't seen each other for such a long time, there was a lot to catch up on. we were chatting for so long, we forgot to drink the tea...i didn't want to waste it, so decided to take a pic! :-D

Kitty sitting in the teacup I got back in 2016 from The Butchart Gardens when my husband and I went on our first ever Cruise to Alaska.
After a lengthy restoration by Steamrail, B72 has been restored and repainted into the early 1980's Teacup scheme. While yet to return to mainline service the loco was used around the Newport workshops open days on 8-3-26
This is a shot of the famous teacup ride at Disneyworld, engineered for maximum nausea. I have stayed on the sidelines for many years.
