The road from East Cape back to Te Araroa is mostly unpaved loose stone which leave the driver's hands vibrating long after stepping out of the vehicle. Hitting this tarmac is a relief.
The rain prompted us to rethink our plans of staying a few more days in Gisborne region and Bay of Plenty. The plan from this point was to head to Opotiki and reassess there.

Conhecido também como bem-te-vi-de-coroa, bem-te-vi-verdadeiro e em alguns lugares do NE como cirino, é provavelmente o pássaro mais popular de nosso país, podendo ser encontrado em cidades, matas, árvores à beira d'água, plantações e pastagens. Em regiões densamente florestadas habita margens e praias de rios.
É também muito popular nos outros países onde ocorre, recebendo nomes onomatopeicos em várias línguas como kiskadee em inglês, qu´est ce em francês (Guiana) e bichofêo em espanhol (Argentina).

The name originates from the hillscape in Māori, Te Mata-o-Rongokako, or "the face of Rongokako." Rongokako was an ancestor of the Ngāti Kahungunu, and the area is believed to be his final resting place.
When seen from the north, the peak appears to be the silhouette of a person lying down, which is said to be Rongokako. European settlers called the peak the "Sleeping Giant," a name that is still in use today.

Watertoren te Sneek . The Netherlands
The water tower in Sneek was designed by architect G. Halbertsma and built in 1908 in a neo-Renaissance style. The tower is on the Lemmerweg 45 and is a municipal monument.
The water tower has a height of 44 meters and has one water reservoir of 350 m3. Since 1998, the tower has been used as an office. In 2008 the water tower was depicted on the stamp sheetlet 'Mooi Nederland Sneek
