Peach green tea with white tapioca. Honestly, it could have been better, but it was sweetened with agave, so that was interesting to try. However, after just a few sips I developed a headache....weird.
Lunch with Gail of HawaiiDiner.com at Tapioca Express, a little place at
1726 Kapiolani Blvd. across from the Convention Center. Plate lunches,
sandwiches, bubble teas, net access, free wi-fi, a comfy couch (with
cookbooks as reading material), and an "open-mic night" advertised. Parking
is ample, but hidden behind the building next door.

Haven't got any info about this farm. When it was built, who has lived here or when it was abandoned, I have no clue. But a very nice location to do it was!!

tapioca pudding with a gloop of jam. Eaten for the MSH but I'm sure I had this sometimes as a child, way back in the sixties. :)
Just some tapioca pearls with rooibos tea, a little soymilk, vanilla, agave nectar and ice. Shakey shakey... add bubble tea straw.

After running errands, we stopped by Tapioca Express so boyfriend can get his crispy chicken thing. While waiting he got some jasmine tea, which was really good, and I got the Honeydew Smoothie with Tapioca, which is even better! I haven't had Honeydew in so long, and I loved every sip of it! Tapioca's my friend...

OMG this was so good. And apparently totally included with our meal. Each color of tapioca was a different flavor - taro, mango, green tea..
The actual meal (not pictured) was "hot pot" - something like what might be called shabu shabu or simply nabe in Japanese. They have 15 different broths to choose from, and then you choose the individual things - meats, seafood, veges - to put in your soup, each batch of meat or veges being a different price, based on the color of the plates (seen to the right in this photo). The vegetarian/kosher thing was kind of a problem, but outside of that, it was quite delish.
