I really enjoy street photography and want to shoot more of it. I love the challenge of shooting someone at their earnest without them reacting to the camera. This gentleman was just standing in this doorway as I was walking down the street. I literally did a ninja turn with my camera, snapped off a shot real quick, and continued walking. By the looks his reaction, my ninja prowess left him unfazed - a sign of true ninja.

This photo was taken at an "olden days" birthday party complete with washboard, clothes line, loom (yes, loom), beeswax candles, corn husk dolls, Thanksgiving table, DIY bread, and pretend pond that I pretended to dip my toes into it being a warm day. This photo, out of all that I took, most reminds me of an "olden day" photo, the ones my mom used to take when I was a kid, 6 or 7 albums' worth of homespun snapshots.

I really lucked out with this shot. I took it today after a big thunder, lighting, rain storm. I saw the bird land on the tree and I was just trying to get some shot of him sitting there. The next thing I knew, he was taking off. I was able to capture it. I was so excited about it. =) I think it turned out fairly well for a somewhat close up shot of a moving bird. =)

It has been a long while since I last upload anything in here. Lack of inspiration and been busy with life, I must say. But last weekend was the first time I picked up the camera and shoot, after so long. For someone who trusted in me and never stop supporting me from behind.
Fairuz and I had been given the honor by two of our very close friends to capture their big day. I’ve come to know Eka a couple of years ago, and had grown to know how this bloke found her soulmate and their love story. I’ve known from the moment he set his eyes on Nadiah that these two are going to be inseparable (and that he’s not gonna stop telling me how much he loves her from then on :P ). And ever since I knew Nadiah, she has been my shoulder to cry on, a big sister who’s always there for me whenever i need some whack or logic.
So to be a part of the most important moment in their life is something very special for Fairuz and I. The best thing is, we’re now a one big happy family, as Eka may aptly put ;)
It was an intimate and wonderful evening for the lovely couple. Simple yet merry. To the lovebirds, we love you the most. Congratulations and all the best for the future ahead and million thanks for trusting in us *big huge hugs*

This was one of those days where I had a hard time picking just one photo of the day. My husband is a part time ski instructor up at Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood, AK, and my daughter and I usually go with him. When he's not teaching a lesson or out skiing the crazy stuff, we usually stay on the bunny hills teaching Carolina to ski. Today, it was beautiful up at the top so we rode the tram up to see the sights. It did not dissapoint. Once the tram broke through the fog you could see for miles! This photo made the cut because I love how my husband is looking out on the beauty of Turnagain Arm peaking through the fog, 2300 ft below at sea level, while my daughter is facing me cheesin' for the camera. Best of both worlds!
Check out just a few of my other shots from this perfect day in my photostream!
Don't look too close 'cause you will certainly see my hack job in Photoshop Elements where I decided to remove the butterfly's white string.
I had to find something good from all the wind we've been having. This was captured as I was running Madison from the playground to the warm-up for Saturday's soccer game. She noticed it first, and I turned and shot on the run.
