Set for Christmas - Day 20
Not long to go until the big day, of over eating :))
Today we'll be having salmon, followed by mince pies.
When your house is your home + office + studio + school = huge freaking disaster area, it is time to make some changes.
Lily and Alice are really good at helping. They both love to cook. One loves to sweep and set the table. The other loves to organize and sort. We've never had anything formal about chores before but a few months ago, I told them about a chore chart that my sisters and I had when we were growing up. They *loved* the idea. Alrighty.
So I told them they need to meet to come up with a list, and then we could talk about it. Which they did. And we did. I added a few things like push in your chair (because that just bugs me) but for the most part, this is their list.
We're still pretty loosey-goosey but it sure is nice to be able to call out, "I need a cooking helper!" or "Who is my table-setter tonight?" They're digging it. Me too.
A tablesetting of Valentine cuppie cakes heading out the door to the boys at hubby's workplace this afternoon...
Set for Christmas - Day 8
A slightly more festive look today, with my Father Christmas plates that only get used once or twice a year.
I will be doing a roast chicken dinner for mid afternoon. There might be a pud, but probably not ... I'll make him eat more vegetables if he is still hungry :)))
Day 23
This was a bit of an over kill, as our main meal today was just a cheese ploughman's and a bowl of ice cream.

In December, on the run up to Christmas Day, I did a daily table setting. That was a bit much, so I now do a weekly setting.
