We love this runner! Diana Holbrook made this modern table runner from an old Holiday Crafts magazine (Dec 2008).
Designer: Artful Offerings
After coffee with Molly, my sister Ashley and I joined the family in celebrating Grandpa's birthday! Coincidentally, I snapped a somewhat comparable photo when the family gathered to celebrate Grandma's birthday in January. Lines of people offer an interesting depth that I enjoy photographing. However, at the tender height of 5'1" I've had more success shooting said lines when my subjects are sitting down!
Our local online news journal, Historic City News, published a nice article about Grandpa with a photo that I took of him at Christmas. Is he too cool for school, or what?!
Notice a familiar blob in the background? It's Vanishing Florida!
Hair-like sisal is used to playful effect in this table. The raw fibres are from the leaves of the agave plant, an agricultural waste left over from tequila distilleries.
Formerly produced to make rugs, ropes and fishing nets, sisal use has diminished with the invention of plastic.
Fernando Laposse's designs support local employment and the development of new agave plantations that help to retain rainfall on over-farmed, barren landscapes.

Waste Age: What can design do?
(October 2021 – February 2022)
We all know waste is a big problem. So how are we going to fix it?
A new generation of designers is rethinking our relationship to everyday things. From fashion to food, electronics to construction, even packaging - finding the lost value in our trash and imagining a future of clean materials and a circular economy could point the way out of the Waste Age.
Explore major new exhibits that capture the devastating impact of waste including a large-scale art installation by Ibrahim Mahama made from e-waste in Ghana.
The exhibition showcases some of the visionary designers who are reinventing our relationship with waste, including Formafantasma, Stella McCartney, The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Lacaton & Vassal, Fernando Laposse, Bethany Williams, Phoebe English and Natsai Audrey Chieza.
'We must face the problem of waste – we can no longer ignore what happens to things when we get rid of them. Instead of thinking of objects as things that have an end life, they can have many lives. This is not just an exhibition it is a campaign, and we all have an active part in our future.' Gemma Curtin, Curator.

According to Cherokee legend, a smaller peak to the right (not visible here) is the Stool where the Great Spirit sat when he ate at the Table (center). As I was taking this photo, a very noisy flock of geese came through. I was more concerned about including the geese than including the Stool.
Another shot from Maggie and Richards wedding. This was the head table in preparations for the big feast.
Another of Prairie's seasonal dinner table decorations. She figures I get Halloween to be all black and spider-y, she gets Easter to be all pink and bunnified.
well this is a new shot that i just edited. I wish i could say that the side by side was my idea but i really like the way it looked and tried it. I got this idea from a pair of photographers that truly kill it when it comes to wedding photos..I found them on flickr.com.. Their names are moore and cruz. here is a link to their work
This shot is from my friend jackies wedding and is of the table arrangements.. I really like the way it came out. A big Gracias goes out to Moore and Cruz for inspiring me to try something new. I credit you guys with this shot. I hope you dont mind me trying it out.. It just looked epic....Hope everybody digs the new stuff... let me know....

Cute mini table that I redid in aqua with french word graphics....a store with ceramics, crystal etc.
The table was small, but the views every morning for breakfast and then at lunch or dinner were great!

The picnic tables in the park along the river have seen heavy use this Fall.... this is about to change with an arctic front moving down and bringing chilly temps.

Die Picknicktische im Park am Fluss wurden fleissig benützt diesen Herbst. Das wird sich aber jetzt ändern wenn die Kaltfront ankommt.
