Our workspaces had pumpkin buckets filled with materials we needed for our art doll craft. Once we were seated, the fluffy orange trees were removed so we could get to know our tablemates while we worked.

"31 Wishes" Halloween Art Event & Tea was hosted by supremely talented Ann-Denise of Whim & Fancy, and was held in her home in Keller, TX. The one-day event featured sweets, treats, swaps & an awesome "book doll" crafting project. The attendees dressed in their finest Halloween- and Fall-colors, and spent the day making art and new friends.

I have been making some Christmas place mats to use on the Christmas dinner table. I used a fabric called Poinsettia & Holly by Kathy Negley for Rowan.

I love seeing them all in a row on the line....it shows just how well all the fabrics coordinate with each other.

These indigo cotton placemats are just right for casual summer dining out of doors. Perfect for an early morning breakfast or a light lunch under the sun umbrella, their dusky blue colour and open lacy patterning brings a welcome sense of cool even to the hottest of summer days.

The Provence region of France is famous for its Lavender.

I took this shot from a tablemat on display outside a shop in Avignon (Navette Macaron).

I just love the fabrics so I kept the design really simple.

Here you have the wonderful set of 6 placemats I've been hand embroidering in the spare time (hence it's taken a bit of time hehe). They are all different and will be used in the Christmas table this year.

Found these vintage doilies at a thrift shop. They weren't all quite finished so I did the job and put them together as a table mat. I was particularly attracted by the colours because I am sure I would not have chosen them myself. And I love them! They make me smile every time I come into the room!

Sashiko is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching (or functional embroidery) from Japan.

The white cotton thread on the traditional indigo blue cloth gives sashiko its distinctive appearance.

The artist Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849) published the book New Forms for Design in 1824, and these designs have inspired many Sashiko patterns. (from Wikipedia)
