At the pass with Chef-Owner David Barzelay.

The restaurant's concept and ticket pre-purchasing process is certainly different than most others, but it seems to work well for all those who score a seat. Plus the encouragement to socialize and interact with fellow tablemates and the kitchen is something that might push the stereotypical diner out of their comfort zone. I thought it was great.

They played a little game, since I don't think too many of the attendees were true hopheads - you had to list tasting notes after tasting the beer, and guess the ABV%, and then the representative from the brewery would read the notes and say who came closest. I've had Brooklyn Weisse many, many times before, so for me it was a cakewalk. "Cloves and banana," I said after sipping the beer. But my tablemates weren't sure, or somehow my notes didn't make it to the paper. A quick Google search on my phone showed them that the correct answer was "Bananas and cloves". They sort of listened to me more after that.

Our workspaces had pumpkin buckets filled with materials we needed for our art doll craft. Once we were seated, the fluffy orange trees were removed so we could get to know our tablemates while we worked.

"31 Wishes" Halloween Art Event & Tea was hosted by supremely talented Ann-Denise of Whim & Fancy, and was held in her home in Keller, TX. The one-day event featured sweets, treats, swaps & an awesome "book doll" crafting project. The attendees dressed in their finest Halloween- and Fall-colors, and spent the day making art and new friends.

I have been making some Christmas place mats to use on the Christmas dinner table. I used a fabric called Poinsettia & Holly by Kathy Negley for Rowan.

I love seeing them all in a row on the line....it shows just how well all the fabrics coordinate with each other.

These indigo cotton placemats are just right for casual summer dining out of doors. Perfect for an early morning breakfast or a light lunch under the sun umbrella, their dusky blue colour and open lacy patterning brings a welcome sense of cool even to the hottest of summer days.

These coiled mats are made from scraps of fabric wrapped around a cord.
