Seated at the sidewalk terrace of an Italian restaurant Greenwich Village on a BEAUTIFUL Saturday afternoon, this man wasn't paying any attention to the plate of food placed before him on the table. Sometimes food just has to be relegated to the back burner! His expression here is full of concentration, very in the moment. (In another shot, he's smiling...) His tablemate however, seen to his left, is just plain glum...or perhaps hungry; he hadn't been served yet!

I bought myself two things in Berlin, this is one of them, a tablemat with "i love u" in German. I like it because the "i love u" is written so many times, its like a magic spell! Maybe sometimes we have to believe in it by speaking it out loud so many times...
Tablemates Matt and Matt. They were also the designer of this year's convention dolls, a Ken and Barbie set.

The night we found out about Kipi H.
There was a death onboard which sent elevator gossip into overdrive. As far as we know now, it hasn't been ruled suspicious. The whole thing should have been handled better, much more discreetly, and the family should have had some say in it.

Tutorial for a quilted, embroidered snowflake table mat at Art Threads, artthreads.blogspot.com/2012/01/wednesday-sewing-quilted-...
These coiled mats are made from scraps of fabric wrapped around a cord. I like using different shades of the same colour in one mat--aren't these lime greens great?
My beautiful swap package from Kelie -- isn't it amazing? Blogged at fabricmutt.blogspot.com/2012/11/blessed.html.
Ink on white napkin.
We make these colored napkins daily for our two sons' lunches. They are both in grade school. We started these with our first son when he began first grade (5 years ago). These napkins have become fun to share with their tablemates, classes, and teachers.
Star Wars is a particularly popular request by our sons!

These indigo cotton placemats are just right for casual summer dining out of doors. Perfect for an early morning breakfast or a light lunch under the sun umbrella, their dusky blue colour and open lacy patterning brings a welcome sense of cool even to the hottest of summer days.

These coiled mats are made from scraps of fabric wrapped around a cord. This one was made with some vintage marimekko linens that I inherited from my mother-in-law.
A fast and simple quilt that can be made from scraps or your pre-cuts such as strip rolls/jelly rolls.
This little quilt can be made quickly by using pre-cut 2 ½” strips and Valerie shares with you a quick tip about how to layer cut and then quickly reshuffle- which saves time so that you can get onto the fun bit of sewing!
Valerie also talks about options on quilting - in this case using buttons and/or tying - and then you could also quick turn the project , which also avoids having to do any binding!
To learn more about tying your quilt - click here
and for the fast turn method - you can enjoy a tablemat workshop with Valerie by clicking here ; this method can be used for quilts of all sizes, but make sure that you have the quilt very flat over the wadding before you sew round!
