no colour correction was applied to this picture. It really was that red/pink (in fact i was a bit late capturing the intensity). The sun was setting to my back and right, and it was 'burning' the rocks...

Quick stuff. How do we improve it?

Some photos from our weekend trip to Table Mountain in CA.

All shots are analog and unedited.

Roulette table - slow shutter speed. New Year in Sheffield

So I have inherited a pool table.

...unfortunatelly all these plants died after several days of the veranda being covered with a serious ammount of snow.

When it's sunny, we like to push the table to the window and have as much of the woolen carpet as possible for us!

cooking up lots of new bits for NAHBS and the next race season...

The first piece in my CJWD range, this is the Lines Coffee Table made using cherry wood with a maple line detail on the stretcher. The louvre-style 'Lines' are finished with an ivory colour high gloss paint. The floating table top is 10mm toughened glass.

I finished the timber in a hard wax oil.

The design will also be available in walnut with deep red 'Lines'.

An empty table at a restraunt in the hotel I stayed in over easter. Nothing exciting.

The classical view of Centre Vale, home to Todmorden Cricket Club. Whirlaw, a well defined gritstone edge offering a mischievously false horizon, provides a scenic backdrop beyond the A646 Burnley road. One former Tod club professional, a South African, rather fancifully compared this view to that of Table mountain from the Cape Town cricket ground. Until 1888, the Yorkshire-Lancashire county boundary bisected the Centre Vale pitch.

Todmorden are batting during the early stages of a five-wicket Lancashire League defeat by East Lancashire. Both sides struggled early in their innings: Todmorden slumped to 69-5; East Lancashire to 84-5. The Blackburn-based visitors came out on top, with a couple of overs to spare, thanks to an unbroken stand worth 84 for the sixth wicket between Mark Lomas (51no) and Niall Boyle (30no).

Match statistics: Todmorden 165 off 45.2 overs (Matt Collins 35, Simon Newbitt 34, Shahrukh Khan 3-35, David Turner 3-37) 1pt lost by five wickets to East Lancashire 168-5 off 48.5 overs (Mark Lomas 51no, Niall Boyle 30no, Matt Collins 3-44) 12pts. Todmorden won the toss and elected to bat. Admission: £4. No programmes. Attendance: 150. Tea: 50p. Victoria sponge: £1.20.

Todmorden Cricket Club were founded in 1837, and have been members of the Lancashire League for more than a century. They have won the league championship on five occasions (the most recent as long ago as 1957) and the Worsley Cup eight times (the last in 2000). A glittering list of former club professionals includes Paul Allott, Brian Close, Mohsin Khan, Francois du Plessis, Fred Root, Frank Tyson and Fanie de Villiers. Over the years, Todmorden have produced six homegrown first class cricketers. Of those, Peter Lever (Lancashire) and Derek Shackleton (Hampshire) played for England. The facilities at Centre Vale are good enough for both Yorkshire and Lancashire to stage Second XI fixtures there.
