We returned to the DRAO again this year and this time there weren't any forest fires in the area so I was able to get some good shots with blue skies.
We also arrived there early enough to go into the visitor center and and walk around the dishes. The main building was off limits unfortunately. I found out later that there is a guided tour by one of the Astronomers on Sunday afternoons. Unfortunately that's the day we are driving home. Maybe next year. :)
I was happy with the shots this time as I was last year (one of them was my favorite for all of 2006).
Either than getting zapped by a bee on the walk out, the trip to the Observatory was well worth it. I love Astronomy.
