I always thought that telescopes were something you looked through to make far away things closer.
We attended an open house at the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Obsevatory near Pentiction BC and learned a lot . This Observatory, the largest of its kind in Canada, is doing some amazing work.
The photo below is from this array of dish telescopes. What you see is hydrogen emmisions that they are tuning into and reading. They have given the computor the color to use so we can have a visual record.
The small white dots that look like stars are in fact galaxies.
This is from a print out... this telescope uses a technique called interferometry and sophisticated signal-processing methods to combine all the antennas into a single telescope, 600 metres in diameter. It is mapping hydrogen gas and charged particles that exist between the stars.

After an intense two-week creation period, these works are submitted to the second wave of ten, who take inspiration from the first group and respond with their own original works.
On the night of the SYNTHESIS gala, guests will be able to enjoy the artistic harmony the artists have created in the form of art installations and live performances. We sincerely hope you join us and add your own ideas, stories and perceptions to the mix.

There are seven me in the photo. I took seven photos and put them together. The most difficult thing is to deal with the shadow, because my various position causes different shadows which may overlap with each other. At last I solved this problem. Can you find any flaw in the photo? If you can, please do not forget telling me. :-P

The Art Gallery (TAG) at the University of West Florida (UWF), presents “SynThesis, a Group BFA Exit Exhibition,” of work by graduating Bachelor of Fine Art students Jaime Diffee, Corey Frey, Jasmine Holmes, Hannah “Wolfy” Howell, and Zachary Machado. Their work incorporates a variety of media including drawing, painting, digital art, printmaking, and sculpture.
