A little explanation: the word "delay" refers to (in this case) to a musical effect that my husband uses with his guitar. He has the so called Synesthesia condition which means that he sees music in colors. So when he saw this picture he immediately associated it with the sound of the delay effect, which he sees in blue. Thats why he called it The Blue Bell of Delay.

How amazing it must be for all those ppl with Synesthesia to listen music!

Triptych is the latest audio visual space-time carving from iconoclastic Australian AV artist and composer Robin Fox. The work brings together the artist’s two creative passions—electronic music and audio-visual mechanical synesthesia. Using custom-built hardware that splits the voltage creating the image to the audio realm, the work achieves an almost impossible but also incredibly simple correlation between sound and image.

I tasted an under-ripe cantaloupe and used a Sakura Micron .05mm pen on Canson Sketch 5.5" x 8.5" paper to relate the taste experience. After this photo was snapped I started filling in a few spaces with India ink and a bamboo skewer. The ink was very liquid and bled where I didn't want it to go and I didn't like it, so I stopped working on it. I will probably use this in a mixed media piece later, or as a jumping off point or inspiration for another work.

As little Edgar Curtis lay on his porch, he remarked to his mother how the noise of the rifle range was black, the chirp of the cricket was red, and the croak of the frog was bluish. Edgar, like many other people, has synesthesia - a fascinating condition in which music can have color, words can have taste, and time and numbers float through space.

Everyone will be closely acquainted with at least 6 or 7 people who have synesthesia but you may not yet know who they are because, until very recently, synesthesia was largely hidden and unknown. Now science is uncovering its secrets and the findings are leading to a radical rethink about how our senses are organized. In this timely and thought-provoking book, Jamie Ward argues that sensory mixing is the norm even though only a few of us cross the barrier into the realms of synesthesia.

How is it possible to experience color when no color is there? Why do some people experience touch when they see someone else being touched? Can blind people be made to see again by using their other senses? Why do scientists no longer believe that there are five senses? How does the food industry exploit the links that exist between our senses? Does synesthesia have a function? The Frog Who Croaked Blue explores all these questions in a lucid and entertaining way, making it fascinating reading for anyone with an interest in the intriguing workings of the mind.

Renaissance

Installations, performances, conferences, from 2 to 25 June 2022, Le Commun Geneva

Renaissance is an exhibition of audio-visual installations produced in collaboration by the duo of digital artists from the Robert Turner Collective and the electroacoustic jazz music duo INFLUUT. Works of algorithmic abstraction offer a synesthetic immersion, inviting introspection and meditation.

Each day presents an event for which the invited artists, scientists or collectives propose an intervention that resonates with the themes of the exhibition. Performances, conferences, installations, and a festival of sleep concerts punctuate the Renaissance complex.

Transdisciplinary in nature, this exhibition aims to provide a sort of demystification of the general notion of the algorithm. She deals in a sometimes didactic, sometimes playful, sometimes organic way with themes that may still be difficult to access with a positive and inclusive attitude.

Welcome

Taking all the illustrations/notes people have given me thus far (6 participants... expecting more over the weekend/beginning of next week) and organizing them into categories to begin understanding how I might use them for deliverables.
