At the Nanzenji temple complex (Kyoto, Japan)

Two lads lounge on the jetty in Cefalù, towels drying, backs bronzing—and eyes very much elsewhere. It’s hard to say what’s got their attention more: the parade of sunbathers or the figure mid-handstand out in the bay, channelling full Esther Williams meets Bond girl energy. Whether it’s a display of aquatic elegance or a bold flirtatious flex, it’s clearly working. The bottle of water may be lukewarm, but the mood is distinctly steamy.

I am really happy and proud about capturing this photo yesterday down at the pond....I have always wanted to try and get a action shot like this and this is my first...and these ducks never did it again so it was a once in a lifetime shot for me...

Thanks to lan@NZFlickr for the name.....Swan Lake I thought of that too but as these are ducks it did not seem to fit...

Two of my friends were up to the challenge of doing a synchronized dive for me. :-)

North American river otters are well insulated against the cold, and have high metabolisms. They love to swim no matter what the weather.

Photographing synchronized swimming was decidedly fun. Which is a little odd, because I'm pretty sure I've never seen it before.

Strobist: One 580 camera right, one 550 camera left, one 580 in an underwater viewing chamber camera right, intended to give the water a little bit of a glow. All at 1/1, or thereabouts.

This is shot at Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary (also commonly known as the Thattekad Sanctuary). The sound you hear is the real sound of the forest.

It's Double Up day at Feathery Friday. Here I caught the Pilgrims busy after a bath. It's not unusual to see the birds doing the same activity - pretty rare to have the camera to catch it.

Happy Feathery Friday Everyone!

Three runners in sync during the 10 mile run at the Grand Prix of Bern.

Four warthogs, all in the same pose, with their tails up in the air. No idea of that signifies anything. The male head of the family is leading the pack. Warthogs are extremely jittery, fleeing the slightest hint of perceived danger. They are actually trotting here, but the high shutter speed was enough to freeze them.
