If the Olympic Games were to come to NYC I'm sure we might see a new sport - Synchronized Craning. These guys at the Essex Crossing site on Delancey & Essex Streets are pretty good - with just a little more practice.... potential gold!

The river Hooghly, a distributary of the Ganges, provides a huge scope of photography. The river is like a lifeline of Kolkata, providing hassle-free transport as well as business. A ride on Hooghly river is a must on a tour of Kolkata

While hiking on Bell Island in NF, these two whales slowly swam by us. A couple of times they surfaced at the same time.

It was neat to watch these two run circles around schools of small fish. Thanks to hawkwatcher08 for the title suggestion!

These two bobcats had been curled up together sleeping on a cold morning. Suddenly a jackrabbit hopped nearby. The two popped up like they had been glued together and side by side they carefully crept closer and closer to the rabbit. Every move they made was identical. Each low crawling step, each pause in movement, and each slight turn of the head as they stalked their prey looked as if it had been a choreographed synchronized dance. Another example of beauty in nature 🐾

The Grebes appeared to be sleeping, but their legs were gently paddling under the water. I was expecting the equivalent of bumper cars, but they seemed to avoid each other.

synchronized swimming Team

Sincro Urbarri. Etxebarri- Bizkaia. Basque Country

If you didn't make it to the WPA's SynchroSwim tonight, you missed out on a real treat. Five teams competed and were awarded prizes in "best performance", "best visual spectacle", and "crowd favorite". This team was the most traditional and a lot of fun to watch. Oh, and two of the Real World cast members were on the judges panel. Good times!

Watched the American Pelicans fishing as a team today! They made a half circle, then it was heads down and bottoms up as they dived in unison!

It took 5 pieces of equipment to lower in this 300m section of pipe.

This is not the time to screw around, one bad move, and they all go down. Always pick your operators very carefully

miserable weather here in West of Scotland, spent morning in Largs as woods too marshy. Tried to catch better shot of birds in the water, think if there had been better light shot would've been a bit more eye candy

They still need to work on their routine...

The wind was such that the pelicans were landing a little further away. After landing however they would swim into the resting area in pairs or small groups and I was trying to keep an eye out for symmetry in those movements.
