Yesterday I had a healing session over the phone with a woman who'd been highly recommended to me by a mutual friend. It was the first time we'd talked. I liked her and we were very tuned in to each other. She told me she works with the Ascended Masters and named Jesus Christ and Yogananda. After the session I walked into my office. The sun was shining through the window, a single light beam specifically illuminating a picture of Jesus Christ that was sitting on my laptop. At that moment I remembered that I bought it at Yogananda's Self Realization Fellowship retreat and ashram in Encinitas, California when I lived in Encinitas in the 1970s. A nice little bit of synchronicity! :-)

Due to a wonderful synchronicity, I own two cabinet card portraits of Elmer Daniel Marshall, late-Victorian and Edwardian man of business. I was contacted by a photo seller who found the image above on Elmer’s Find A Grave memorial after I had placed it there. He offered me a younger image of Marshall, below, which I purchased to keep them together.

SYNCHRONICITY Original Abstract Knife Drip Painting 36 by 24 Renée
Title: Synchronicity
"Synchronicity can be defined as a non-causal but meaningful relationship between events or states of mind within the human psyche and events in the outside world. More simply, we could call it the experiences of "meaningful coincidence". We have all had experiences that we intuitively recognize as meaningful, though we would be hard pressed to explain them in rational terms. In fact, these "meaningful coincidences" are not coincidences at all but spontaneous realizations of the underlying interconnectedness of all things within the Universe." Laurence Boldt - Tao of Abundance
As Heraclitus put it, "The unseen design of things is more harmonious than the seen."
Style: Expressionist,Abstract
Medium: Acrylics on hand stretched artist grade canvas, edges wrapped to back and painted.
Dimensions: 36"x24"
This is an original abstract painting painted with artist painting knifes and hundreds of paint drips, no brushes were used in the creation of this textured and kinetic painting direct from Renée~Fauve Studio
In a defiant act of synchronicity on an otherwise relatively calm surface, rises from the abyss, a towering rogue wave! The two gulls that I was training my lens on were almost taunting it, as they swooped directly into it' path, and then in a harrowing split second, pulled up to where their feet practically dragged over the crest! In the next seconds as they soar past it, they're suddenly a good ten feet above the surface, as they continue onward swooping and gliding on the steadily pressing air currents.
In his book Synchronicity: An Acausal Connecting Principle, Carl Jung wrote:
How are we to recognize acausal combinations of events, since it is obviously impossible to examine all chance happenings for their causality? The answer to this is that acausal events may be expected most readily where, on closer reflection, a causal connection appears to be inconceivable.
In the introduction to his book, Jung on Synchronicity and the Paranormal, Roderick Main wrote:
The culmination of Jung's lifelong engagement with the paranormal is his theory of synchronicity, the view that the structure of reality includes a principle of acausal connection which manifests itself most conspicuously in the form of meaningful coincidences. Difficult, flawed, prone to misrepresentation, this theory none the less remains one of the most suggestive attempts yet made to bring the paranormal within the bounds of intelligibility. It has been found relevant by psychotherapists, parapsychologists, researchers of spiritual experience and a growing number of non-specialists. Indeed, Jung's writings in this area form an excellent general introduction to the whole field of the paranormal.
In his book Synchronicity: An Acausal Connecting Principle, Jung wrote:
...it is impossible, with our present resources, to explain ESP, or the fact of meaningful coincidence, as a phenomenon of energy. This makes an end of the causal explanation as well, for "effect" cannot be understood as anything except a phenomenon of energy. Therefore it cannot be a question of cause and effect, but of a falling together in time, a kind of simultaneity. Because of this quality of simultaneity, I have picked on the term "synchronicity" to designate a hypothetical factor equal in rank to causality as a principle of explanation.

“According to Vedanta, there are only two symptoms of enlightenment, just two indications that a transformation is taking place within you toward a higher consciousness. The first symptom is that you stop worrying. Things don't bother you anymore. You become light-hearted and full of joy. The second symptom is that you encounter more and more meaningful coincidences in your life, more and more synchronicities. And this accelerates to the point where you actually experience the miraculous. (quoted by Carol Lynn Pearson in Consider the Butterfly)” ― Deepak Chopra, Synchrodestiny: Harnessing the Infinite Power of Coincidence to Create Miraclestags: enlightenment, faith, joy, miracles, synchronicity, trust, worry 578 likes like
Colorado Springs, CO - It was great to get out and take pictures of the local skaters. There is a comradery amongst this community that is nearly indescribable. When I was much younger I attempted to skateboard but never was really that good. It's great to see that the sport is still growing strong.

Street theatre with a difference in Manuel Antonio. The acrobats were good but their performance was still somewhat lacking in synchronicity. Our Costa Rican guide consistently called them "Pippi Langkous apies". He obviously has been guiding Dutch groups for a long time.
I caught the gull on the bottom as he's glancing up at the other gull! I like how their wings are pretty synchronized. Wind Point, WI

Today's Krusty update is a music video inspired by one of my all-time favorite bands: The Police. Ever since the 80s when I was listening to their music when it was new, I've been inspired at times to do my own renditions of their album covers such as Ghost in the Machine's 7-segment display-inspired artwork on my Commodore 64.
Fast-forward many years and I still listen to their music very often - usually when I'm in the groove working or writing code on my workstation.
This video started very simply as a regular video of Krusty in the suitcase only, but I decided that was kind of boring so I started to jazz it up - and now, 5 days later I have this.
For those who aren't Police fans, the red/yellow/blue paint brush strokes are part of the signature look of the Synchronicity album cover.
Originally this was going to be a funny video, but it evolved into something more.
Enjoy and have a great weekend!
IMPORTANT: Ever since Flickr upgraded its interface, many of my contacts have complained about not being able to see my videos on Windows computers.
If you can't see it here, feel free to check it out on YouTube here:
Not only did I fall in love with Hazel Atlas blue Ripple plates, but I discovered a miniature version of it made by Re-Ment for my doll house. I still can't believe it...
I would like to say that I planned for the guy in the red shirt to be standing here while all of the traffic lights were also red. But, honestly, I was just trying to take a pretty picture of a fire hydrant.

You will know
Synchronicity
A sleep trance, a dream dance
A shared romance
Synchronicity
A connecting principle
Linked to the invisible
Almost imperceptible
Something inexpressible
Science insusceptible
Logic so inflexible
Causally connectible
Yet nothing is invincible

The mango trees are all in bloom.
My life is in bloom. At 60. In the shadows of COVID-19. From what I visioned as the year of synchronicity 2020 has on the surface has, all but shut down.
Social barriers box in my normality. Instead of travel, I’m staying home. Australia has shut down its borders, and so have I.
So after a massive start, working under pressure, and meet stressful deadlines, I am questioning what it is I do. Do I meaner through my holidays without care and intensity? That is, feeling relaxed without care.
This self-reflection is about ‘just do it.’
I have dedicated myself to education for decades, and I am fastly approaching retirement. Since my early years as an artist and extended absence, I have fantasized about returning to a creative life choice. Even though I have maintained creating art on the side, I know this is a big challenge. I know one thing, I do not want to create art for art's sake.
My challenge is me, and the type of art I want to produce. I want my art to be substantial, intentional and have an impact. It must have something to say to encapsulate the viewer outwardly and inwardly.
My starting point is, 'we cannot know things as they are in themselves' (Kant).
Jingili Water Gardens will be my inspiration.
My philosophical purpose is creativity.
My social purpose is considering how wealth and consumption control creativity.
Repetitive walks around Jingili Water Gardens will refine my thinking.
On this basis, I have dedicated part of my holiday getting to know myself by getting to know Jingili Water Gardens.
