I still haven't posted some of my submissions to the 52frames challenge here yet... Time to catch up!
Week 21: Symmetry
The ideas and decision making in every challenge is always an absolutely nerve-racking experience for me. Also this week the ideas have been alternating hourly. Actually I wanted to capture a portrait of Charlotte with a terrace table reflection. But then I got stuck with my initial idea. I love these field paths... Their symmetry and infinity mood always give me a feeling of freedom.

"Symmetry Sunrise"
What a wonderful and unexpected pre-sunrise moment. We just returned from a fabulous 9 days photographing at the Bear River Migratory bird refuge in northern Utah. Every morning was an early rise. Some mornings like this one were earlier than others......we knew there would be clouds and a possibility of some lighting up with color before and during sunrise. We had scouted a flooded field in the refuge area and decided to set up for a possible reflection. We arrived in the dark, set up tripods and waited. As the sun got higher behind the mountains, the magic began. A crazy band of clouds appeared and dissected my composition perfectly. It was a really fun and dynamic few minutes before the sun actually crested the mountain ridge.
South African Pigmyweed / Crassula setulosa (stonecrop family)
Its winter over here, that means no rain and dry brown fields.
But it is not dull everywhere, here the small Pigmyweed with its bautiful symmetry and purple winter colour, growing against rocks...size a few centimeters.
The light was just so cool! I can't resist!!

(i'll do some other pic of this station!!! It's sure!!! But this one is one of my favorite!)
Pont de Normandie. Taken from the pedestrian overpass above the toll gates, looking towards the bridge we just crossed.
For today's theme I photographed this goblet then in PP I took a line down the middle and flipped it over to give a symmetrical image. They say that symmetry is important for a beautiful face, I think it looks a little strange and not just the double hands on one wrist.
I'm loving the symmetry of this final instar nymph of the Red-legged Shieldbug or Forest Bug (Pentatoma rufipes). Happy Macro Mondays everyone!
The Red-legged Shieldbug or Forst Bug (Pentatoma rufipes) is a large brown shieldbug which has orange legs and slightly hooked projections at the front of the pronotum. The pale spot at the tip of the scutellum varies from orange to cream.
This species overwinters as young nymphs, which feed mainly on oak. Alder, hazel and other decidous trees are also used, including apple and cherry. Adults are partly predatory, feeding on caterpillars and other insects as well as fruits.
New adults may be found from July onwards, surviving until the late autumn, and eggs are laid in August. Adults can sometimes be found in the early spring, suggesting that a secondary breeding cycle may be possible. Widespread and common across Britain in various habitats.
The 🎄 baubles ✨ are eager with impatience.
Thanks for taking time to view, fave and or comment, they are much appreciated! Have a nice weekend!

Explore #1, FP, & Interestingness :) Thanks so much everyone. Pretty excited about this but surprised that of all the shots this one made it there.
Enough cars and street lights, it's time for more St. Andrews Church indoor shots. This one was taken behind the altar. I would've made a vertorama but there was a back side of a wooden stand right below that wasn't very appealing. To create this shot I did do some symmetry flips but if you look hard enough there are key differences that make it look somewhat real. I'm off now, Thanks for stopping by, and I'll hit up your streams later today.
Tonemapped HDR made from 7 exposures. Brought it into CS3 and blended 3 exposures back onto it. A symmetry flip here and a symmetry there, a bit of masking and bit of blend, and Kapow!! Curves, contrast, slight cooling filter, saturation, unsharp mask.
