Snow started to fall just 30 minutes ago : it's always a marvel to see it back for the first time. We are just chilling at home with my wife, have a cup of tea and preparing winter ahead. It's a time of the year during which staying at home doesn't seem like wasting you time, and it's pretty confortable!

I am ready for snowflake macro shot : my macro lens have been cleaned, my memory card is empty, and mayby I'll start tomorrow ... This one was taken in 2016, I never processed it. I hope it's only a start !

Here is a third snowflake on a red woolen scarf. I was pretty lucky with it : the wind blown it away the second after. Fortunately, I had a sharp shot at first try, which was generally not the case. I am pretty happy with the bokeh at f/9 which is quite natural (like with the lens without the extension tubes)

I discovered that it's not necessarily a good idea to slow down the lens to get a wider depth of field. With shutter speed slower than 1 second, even on a tripod and with only a little bit of wind, the vibrations are too important to get a sharp shot.

So I put the lens at around f/8 and put iso at 200, and it was much better (if only I discovered that sooner !!). So apparently with macro technique, the classic rule slow-down-the-lens-to-get-a-high-depth-of-field-and-a-sharp-shot is not always true because vibrations are also magnified ... It's good to learn new things, especially by experience.

This picture was explored on the 25th of January 2016. Thank you very much !

Let's keep on our exploration of this hidden world of symmetry. This was taken as usual with Kenko Extension tubes and a Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 marco.

All my hopes are pointed to this weekend : snow announced on the morning with -5° C on saturday and -7°C on sunday ... In the meanwhile, here is another cristal taken in december ! Thank you so much for your encouragements !

Dear friends, I need you help. This is a second post, this one was editied after a calibration of my new screen. Color-Management has something of a nightmare.

Could you please tell me what do you think of the comparaison between this one and the last one ? If everything goes fine, the last one should look oversaturated and too much pinky in comparaison. The probleme is : I have no way to be sure ... So I would appreciate that you tell me ... Thank you very much !!

I'll delete the last one as soon as I understand what's going on ...

I'll be frank, this one is probably the most beautiful I ever took. The conditions on this morning were absolutely amazing : no wind, about -11°. I even took them at 100 ISO (this says a lot).

As a christmas gift, I bought a new Screen which should be more effective with photography (my last one was was too bright). However, I am still a little bit lost with color management, color workspaces and ICC profiles. I hope you'll see it not too far from what I want ... If it looks clearly oversaturated to your eye, do not hesitate to tell me !

After a long conversation with my loved ones, we decided to fly away. Seven managed to get through the clouds and we never saw them again. But five others fell and got lost in the suburbs and the dumps. I was among them. We were the sacrificed, condemned to crawl on the barren land, in the dark streets and we forgave. We have forgiven God for abandoning us. We have forgiven others for hating us. We prayed, individually, until we forgave ourselves. From emptiness is born light and shadow, then life, then consciousness. Can we imagine a bigger mystery than this: how could the power to observe emptiness be born from emptiness? We were kings and queens of misery, we were dust on dust, but we had this magnificent and useless power to see our world from inside. Confident, we are back on track. Some have turned back, others have gone forward. I stayed there, between two worlds. I had found my sister, we were finally united. I am witness, Agape and Lilith, of the original separation and the union. We are the union of two opposites who come together beyond God, who return to emptiness, to peace.
