A voir en large, absolument!
Large is indispensable!
On black.
South Africa - Santa Lucia
Winter is almost over in the Jura Mountains. According to the previsions, there will be only sun shining during the following week. So, It's time to post the last wintery pictures and to start considering spring !
I don't know what you think about that, but for me, it's hard to get satisfactory pictures of nature during this transition period between winter and spring (it's the same between fall and winter) : everything is so ... brown-grey. There's no colors, no leafs, no life ... It's just time to wait, or to do other kind of photography like portraits ...
This picture (like the last one) was taken during a perfect snowing day : the conditions for macro snowflakes were just perfect : big translucid dendrites everywhere, no wind, a good covered sky with a diffused light ... I just had to shoot, the weather was doing all the job ;) !
This is a single shot. Probably the last of this year (unless late seasonal snow) ...
Here again, I used the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro and kenko extension tubes.
Eine Begegnung während eines Herbstspaziergangs.
An encounter during an autumn walk.

At last, it snowed and it was possible to take some macro of snowflakes. There is the first and I hope it's not the last ;) !
--------
Was taken with the Canon EF-S 60mm Macro and a full set of Kenko extension tubes ... It comes from 5 shots focus stacked in Photoshop CS6.

Art evokes the mystery without which the world would not exist. Rene Magritte.
Los Angeles. California.
In this shot, I was really hoping to get symmetry using the cairn and the hill in the background. Plus, I think that the lighting was on my side for this one.

Hmm, I could not get a result i was pleased w/ so finally i just said.. ehh what the hey, no need to be perfect. :)))

As a christmas gift for myself, I bought a Kenko Extension tubes kit, I had in mind to take snowflakes macro.
There was no snow during holydays. Then it snowed only during night (which is really bad conditions : I had nothing good), then it snowed during day, but I was at work ... It was kind of frustrating.
In the end, some beautiful flakes fall last satruday, and the air was cold like -8° C. The begining of good conditions.
What a pain it was to get something satisfactory !! It's definetly the hardest thing I did so far with a camera ... I hope to get better shots in the future, but I got some many poor pictures before this one, that I am quite happy.
The difficulty is probably not in the shot itself, but in the understanding of snow and weather conditions : you really have to wait for good conditions, and you have to recognise what kind of snow create what kind of flakes ... you have to find a comfortable way to work, you have to keep your finger warm (in order to use them) ... and the hardest thing : you have to be patient till you have good conditions ...
But that's the kind of photography I like : when you have to catch the Kairos before it runs away ...
Here is a second shot taken on a blue woolen scarf.
In the harshest of climates, even a little sparkle of life seem to prosper and flourish. The will of life is strong in nature and it grasps every possibility and tiny straw. A single pine tree has found its home on this tiny island of stone. It´s a battle with the constant wind and the harsh climate while its branches and pine needles reaching up high in the air for the warmth of the sun. This is Life in its essence. Its the strength of Life.

Let's keep on our exploration of this hidden world of symmetry. This was taken as usual with Kenko Extension tubes and a Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 marco.
I have to confess that I didn't knew this view before, but it's apparently a very famous photo spot in Slovenia by the Bohing Lake (Triglav National Park). This is the "Cerkev Sv. Janeza Krstnika", St. John-the-Baptist Church. Bohinj Lake is very busy and enjoyable during the day, but it's also very quiet in the morning ...
This abstract and beautiful flower called Caesalpinia pulcherrima was created with PicsArt. A big thank you to Master Ben Caledonia for the scientific name of this Beauty!!! Enjoy with Love, Light and Sacred Geometry You!
