It snowed a lot in the alps these days, now there's some pretty impressive floods in the valleys. However, where I live, I had no occasions to catch flakes for a while now. The crystals were superb this weekend, but it was way to warm to hope to catch them, they melt too fast. So here is a flake I took in december. Fortunatly I have stocks. I am looking forward to shooting more of them ...
Lake Jasna is a very nice haven at the beginning of the Vrsic Pass in Triglav National Park in Slovenia. Here again, not easy to take nice picture at midday ... But, I hope you'll find it not so bad ...

The lonely pine tree is stretching its branches up in the sky to fetch a glimpse of the midday sun. It's usually a harsh climate on the island and the roots struggle to get a foothold in the rock infested soil. Today is an easy day for the pine tree. There´s no vind and the sea is calm.
But the climate are usually harsch and the pine tree have to fight to stay alive. There´s no shelter from the wind by surrounding trees. Its a lonley and exposed place but the tree feels proud to be alive. It shows the world that even in the most harsch of environments there is hope of life.
This picture is taken on a reconnaissance trip to Stendörren Nature Reserve in Södermanland, Sweden. It is a very beautiful marine landscape consisting of several smaller islands. I can really recommend you to visit the area if you are in the vicinity.

I've a couple of shots with the moon and a train in mind, this is one. So far train and moon and cloud have all conspired against success... Like the symetry in this though .
I've never seen a lily pad standing upright, demanding equal time with the lily. After two and a half months, the San Diego Botanical Garden has re-opened by appointment, with all new restrictions, one-way paths and the like. Seems this pad was seeking their own recognition, in their own beauty and symetry.

Perfect symetry in the flooded valley at twilight in the french Ardennes.
