Sylvester Davis.
Sylvester Davis was born in Lebanon, Montgomery county, Ohio, and died March
10, 1911, at the home of his son, W. T. Davis, at Delavan. He was 69 years, 9 months
and 21 days old.
His father died when he was quite young. Shortly afterward he moved to Putnam
county, Indiana, where he grew to manihood. He was married to Caroline C.
Matkins February 16, 1862.
Shortly after this marriage he heard the call of his country and offered himself as
its servant. In 1882 he in company with his wife and family moved to Morris
county, settling in Council Grove.
He was the father of five children, four sons and one daughter, all of whom are still
living.
Mr. Davis was a Christian man and a kind father. He was converted and united
with the M. E. church.

Sylvester is a very Happy Puss and is getting rather spoilt!...He is gaining weight and looking quite healthy now..I think he had a rather hard life before moving in with us!..We do however still keep an eye on him when Daffy is around...But Sylvester does spend most of his time inside with us..he really loves company!..:)
Das Wetter war wirklich nicht berauschend, durch den Nebel war die Sicht im Vergleich zum Vorjahr stark eingeschränkt.

Day 2 for us of Preakness Celebration Balloon Festival. Balloons were supposed to launch around 6-6:30, so we arrived early. Very. Early.
The winds had died completely, so they had scrapped the launch (we learned after we got home that the did launch after all - but much later.) Anyway, we got to see a bunch of them inflate - so cool.
Sylvester Stallone at the premiere of "The Expendables" in London, which I happened to run into last Monday.
I was so pleased with how this sculpted cake turned out!
Chocolate sponge, ganache and covered in fondant. Sylvester is holding some of Tweety's feathers ;-)
