All the parts and equipment you need for a switch plate are here. The top plate is on the top left corner, by the spark plug, the bottom plate is at the bottom right, next to the capacitor connector.

The saying is "the devil's in the details" or "God's in the details," depending on whether those details are a big pain in the ass or a pleasure. Mostly, it's been a pleasure, but on snapping this picture, I realized, after I'd put everything away, that I forgot to add the glitter to the switch plate.
This original Art Deco inspired handcrafted switch plate features a faux black mother of pearl border with an inlay of tinted peacock blue translucent clay that looks like vintage milk glass.
This original handcrafted switch plate features a delicate sheet music design hand-stamped onto a textured polymer clay canvas and antiqued with inks.
The frame is sculpted from bronze metallic polymer clay- no molds and no paint. Great rich details!
Sitting, rocking on the porch, her eye happened to fall upon an electrical plug-in plate set into the baseboard. Probably so folks could come out here in the summertime and listen to the radio or even have the baseball on that cute little round TV. Nothing in the whole country more common than those little wall-plates with the prong-slits in them. She’d even had them back in her squatter’s shack in Hemingford. You didn’t think nothing of those plates… unless they didn’t work anymore. Then you realized that one hell of a lot of a person’s life came out of them. All that spare time, that pleasure which the long-ago Don King had extolled her on… it came out of those switchplates set into the wall. With their potency taken away, you might as well use all those gadgets like the microwave oven and the ‘trash masher’ to hang your hat and coat on. (Stephen King, The Stand 640)
The world relies on electricity. Everything needs electricity to function. When the power goes out, our lives are put on hold. We need electricity. Strip us of this dangerous discovery and society would be in shambles.
This project illustrates how our lives are ruled by electricity. I use dramatic lighting and contrast to set a sense of urgency. The photos are slightly unnerving. The light beckons to the viewer, calling him/her closer, only to establish its power over society.

Since a few students asked me to take their work and bake it for them, I also got to snap some pictures of what they made in my Basic Millefiori & Beadmaking (should have been 'small object making') class.
There are some altoid tins there and a couple of switchplates and big handfuls of beads.
Work in progress. This picture was taken after some firing. Note the corrosion on the electrodes (yes, the switches also have electrodes). Also, the transition plates are off, and rest in the background. Tools are handy. The grey blocks wrapped in plastic are lead blocks to keep weight on top of the hot plate.

Trigger cables (thick black wires) are being added. These will connect the trigger heads (white elbowed tubes) to the trigger generator (at right, with blue caps on the contact points.)
Here is the bedroom hallway after some painting. It is Chartreuse from SW. The whole hallway has gold accents - including the switchplates which we just spray painted gold!
In our bedroom, a rose hanger displays my wedding veil, ribbon, garter, and pink purse! A picture of my boys from that special day is nearby.
(I am going to replace this ugly switchplate with a pretty vintage one soon! :)
8/15-8/17: The countertops, floor and cabinet trim, the sink, garbage disposal, lighting and appliances are all installed along with the electrical sockets and switchplates. We got a new range and hood but kept our old dishwasher and refrigerator so the appliances don't match. Almost done now!
