This is the entrance to the hotel room - the original heavy iron doors are still in use as you can see. This really was the most surreal experience. This was the first time I had a real nightmare on the trip too - and I'm not someone had nightmares very often!
Also part of my final project for my creative advertisement class. I had to make a spec book to go along with my poster using all the available faces of Glypha.
Spring 2011.
Before we were up, I had a message in the WhatsApp group for our close, to say that the water was off, had been reported, and may take a while to fix. Fortunately, we have bottled water from previous occasions, which we were able to share with those who needed it. The supply returned at about 1pm, but the guys were still working in the muddy trench at 5.30pm, when I went for a walk.
The next thing was that my car key stopped working. Mike had to replace the battery in his yesterday, so maybe that’s the problem. We don’t have another spare one, so I’ll get that sorted tomorrow. I had planned to go to Melksham today, but didn't really feel up to it, so stayed home and tidied the garage instead. We've been keeping lots of cadboard boxes 'just in case' so it was time for them to go, alsong with a few other space-blockers. One of my motivations was that Adrian, our bike tech, was coming to sort out the gears on the new bike - they weren't set up properly, so the chain would come off when I tried to use first gear. When I took Lucas out on Saturday, I avoided all gears below 4, to be on the safe side! Adrian also adjusted the handlebars and the seat angle, so all is good now, and he took Mike's bike away for a service.
I felt this was a little odd but practical. At lest until someone ends up being stupid and cutting themselves while inserting/removing the usb stick.
