Taken a Mabibi in South Africa, part of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park.

 

These locust likes small insects could be found in small swarms climbing plants sticks or anything.

These pesky flying insects seem to come out at around sunset. Not the first time I've encountered them but I did not realize how many there were until I saw this photo.

 

The pop-up flash of the D90 does a good job of lighting up the area, even with the zoom lens at 18 mm.

On May 29 we had our third honeybee swarm in our orchard this spring.

 

The air around the apple tree where the swarm was captured is filled with honeybees disturbed in the process

We came home to find a swarm of bees about 12 feet away from our hive. So we threw together a box and gave them a place to call their own.

There's a very healthy hive in a tree at the edge of the Woodford Humane Society property; every now and then it gets a little crowded and some of the bees head out to find a new home. The swarm is base while they're looking for a good spot.

I took a trip on my lunch to the lake, but was prevented form taking any shots by these insects. The air was full of them!

These are snow geese at Lake Pungo. This is maby 1/5 of what was just flying at the time.
