Help! I have two ideas and can't decide which one to go with... What's your opinion? I would hand appliqué all of the orange peels and then quilt
P.S. I designed both with EQ6, it's the best!
Brown jacquard jacket, Apt 9. Cream V-neck sweater, American Rag. Brown strapless dress, Newport News. Green/red/purple silk scarf, swap. Burgundy sash, NY & Co (from my velvet dress). Green peep-toes, Wet Seal. Brown, ribbed tights, Merona. Exotic skin purse, Caprice (thrifted and vintage).
Here's the lovely placemat I received in the swap. I just love that dynamic wave of lovely fabric sweeping across. It could be a colourful staircase or a path to an exciting place, and the curved quilting lines complement it so well. And look at that sweet coaster and the adorable fabrics I got as well - lucky me!

For my MT Swap partner :)

(Had a hard time capturing the whole thing with my DSLR)
Sent this to Carly for the Phat Quarter Comics/Cartoons swap. I'd been dying to stitch up one of Ralph Steadman's illustratons from Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, so this swap was a great excuse to do it. Plus the drawing is pretty wonky, so it disguised my beginner's wonky stitching pretty well.
I put down some honey to bait these Carpenter Ants and in this scene one of them is sharing the sweet stuff with another one (as well as information about where to find it). The tricky part about shooting this species is that it reacts to the flash, so I only get one frame.
Awarded my seventh Daily Deviation for this image at Deviant Art.
Tech Specs: Canon 1D Mark III (F13, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens (@ 4x) with an 81A warming filter + a diffused MT-24EX. This is a single, un-cropped, frame taken hand held.
Castle Teacup Pincushion- roof comes off to expose the green-haired Princess. All pieces are removable, reconfigurable.
All done! I hate to send it off. :)
Roof credit goes to Patchwork Pottery for getting me on the right track with the pointy roof! Thank you so much!
Forgot to mention- the teacup pattern is from Jodi at VintageRicRac. I got the pattern on Etsy, there's a teapot in it, too. :)
